In spite of our differences here and there are many, I think overall us vp players are quite an intelligent bunch. Wish I could say that about the rest of America. Our local radio station used to stop people on the street and ask them very basic questions on a variety of subjects. Most of them got the answers incorrect. I will think back and see if I can remember some if the questions. Darn typos. This old SE phone has such a small keypad.
I just remembered one of the questions the local radio station Hosts with station himself inside a 7-Eleven and as customers came in for their coffee or a drink he would ask the question. The question I remember is if something happens to the President of the United States, who is next in line to take over the duties? Three out of five people got the answer wrong. One of the answers was..... I’m not sure, it must be one of the Generals.

Speaking of Clock running I’m thinking of taking a run up tonight to the casino just for a break for a couple of hours. The misses has lots of catch-up stuff to do at home tonight. I don’t get them often, but I hear a Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia hot fudge sundae, Calling my name. I will probably wait until tomorrow to explain why My answer was the number 18. I would like to see how many people respond first.

Looks like very few takers Tech. I said 18 because Republic is the 18th letter of the alphabet. If anyone had thought to recite The Pledge, the answer was there too. Anyway, beautiful day up here. Enjoy everyone and stay safe.

A quick aside.
In 2000, I was working for the census early on. Part of my job was to speak to small groups, educating them about the census and more importantly, educating them about the several thousand well paying jobs the census had coming.
So I'm sent to a VFW in Nassau County to talk to a coin collecting group. to my surprise, the room is packed. There must have been fifty or sixty people there, almost all middle aged or older white males.
I introduce myself to the leader and am pleased to find out he will allow me to speak early in the program.
So the meeting is called to order and right away, I'm introduced to the group and suddenly I hear that I will now lead the group in the pledge. I'm caught by surprise and don't even have time to mentally rehearse it, and it had been many years since I'd said it.
I start out strong, hesitate mid stanza and suddenly realize I'm saying the opening lines of the Superman tv show," with liberty, justice and the American way". Let's just say there were some very puzzled faces in the crowd.
By the way- did you know the Pledge was written by a socialist and originally went like this
I pledge allegiance to my flag, and the Republic for which it stands.
In 1923, congress added the words "the flag of the United States of America, and in 1954 President Eisenhower pushed to add " under God". The authors children strongly objected, saying it made the phrase meaningless for those who worshiped differently or whose religion didn't allow them to use the word God.
Much of this is well known, but most people have no idea that originally, men did not place their hands over their hearts. Instead, the salute you gave during the pledge called for you to extend your right arm, slightly upward but straight ahead, fingers out with your palm facing the ground.
Today, that gesture is recognized mainly as a nazi salute. .

I simply stated a fact. Your answer is WRONG (half-wrong). My hint in the note should allow you to see your error of your ways. No "perversion" involved. Perversion is strictly in your court.

No comment then i have another question. When the answer is revealed will br be man enough to admit he was wrong or will we get a clinton type answer "i did not have sex with that woman" or another more recent gem by pelosi "i was setup".
