Pay tables

Post by royalgt »

Is there anywhere on VPW to punch in the pay table numbers and see what the payout percentage is?
Another thing, on the practice session, the page is kind of jumbled. Is there anyway to correct this?

Yes.  On any game, you can "alter the paytables" or "modify them"...I can't remember the exact wording.  After changing the paytable and giving the result a unique name, you can generate a strategy chart and it will tell you what the Expected Return is along with the Variance.

Thanks, Mike! I will try it.
I know that the problem that I am having with the jumbled stuff on the
screen has to do with the size of the font, but it does not do this on
other programs. If someone has a suggestion that would be great.

I pulled up Bonus PokerI clicked on the Options tabThe first option is "Change Pay Table" which I clicked onThe most simple type change is to just chande the 1-Coin payback.  Make as many changes as you wish.  When you hit "enter" or "OK" it will adjust the 5-coin payback.More advanced changes can be made by clicking on "Edit Categories".  With that option, you can insert combinations of hands such as bonuses for quads with kickers, or maybe a combination of certain ranks making a Full House.  Just about whatever you can dream up!  In doing so, you can create a completely new game. When you do hit "enter" or "ok", you will be given the opportunity to name your game and save it.  When you do this, it goes out to lunch for a while as it generates the correct strategy for the game.By making that simple change from 8 to 9 payback on a Full House in Bonus Poker, the strategy chart shows that the game is 100.3% in Expected return.  If you then go to the "Analyze" tab, and click on "GAME", you will see that the variance is 21.0762%Pretty simple.  I created a game that wasn't available on the VPW software but that was offered in some casinos I've visited.  It was a version of Double Bonus that paid 9/7 but that paid 400 for a Straight Flush and 1,000 for quad Aces.  The strategy was obviously different than that for Full pay Double Bonus.  Handy tool indeed.
