Re: My Journey on Video Poker
Okay, I thought this was the old 98.9% version that everyone else puts up with!
No four of a kinds paying 25 makes a HUGE difference. If you lower that payout to 20 (like every other common Deuces game) and change nothing else, then the payout pictured would nosedive from 100.76% to 94.34%. Four of a kind comes a lot in Deuces. I still wish it came more often for me, especially the most special 4 of a kind.

Session of 10/6 .25c DDB +$335
One shouldn't, but usual does, get too excited over a win or a loss. Reason being is it's just one session of many that make up the whole. Nevertheless, I admit I gave a rare hand clap when I flopped AA9AA while $200 down, kept the Aces (duh) and popped the 4 kicker. Fun stuff, the reminder of why we play crazy variant games like DDB, TDB, triple deuces, etc. So let's just book this win and move on to the next.
Cheers
PS had to throw the straight flush pic in there, my last hand I played. Why? It's the rare sequential straight flush. Funny, because I was almost going to play a sequential royal progressive machine that payed out $24,900 for it (single line quarters). Too bad there wasn't one for the straight flush.

It's a common occurrence on my phone DW (250/200/20/12/9/5/3/2/2/1). First time I even noted the pay table, as I play for kicks. If Dan has losing months with his odds, we're all in a boat load of trouble.

Love seeing aces, especially when they are dealt.

.50c single line nsud puts the beat down on me once again. What is with this stubborn game anyway? -$300 and not even a thank you. *sigh* it's a shame it treats me like it does, for I do enjoy playing it.

I have never seen that paytable (98.94%) in an actual casino, ever. I only knew it existed because Bob Dancer has pointed it out.
The paytable I have universally seen for 98.9% Deuces (aka "Airport Deuces") is: 800/200/25/15/9/4/4/3/2/1 = 98.91%. That is the paytable that Florida Phil plays locally.
Nice kicker redraw Dan!

Dotty's Experience...
Well, I tried Dotty's tonight finally and can sum it up in one word...weird.
They have a country kitchen decor but as one can see, it's all about the machines. One has the feeling of playing machines in a diner kitchen.
Good news is you get alot for your play. Alot of points, free points, give aways, what-have-you...and you get back 10% of all jackpot w2g hits, in the form of cash-back. That's pretty cool and can see why higher limit players like Dotty's, a la Dancer.
However, I'm not a high limit player.
I did not see any nsud which was the game I thought I would be playing...they just had ugly. I did see their best vp game was $1 9/6 bonus poker deluxe. The game I probably should of played, but I only had $400 with me and wanted to earn some points, so played their .50c 9/5 jacks or better.
Another thing I notice is they had paytables that one can bet 1-100 credits...better be careful what your pressing, or you might have a 100 credit hand dealt to you lol
I was careful to avoid this. But didn't matter.
At one point I was up $300 before it all started crashing down. ended up with a -$400 donation to Dotty's and earned probably in the neighborhood of $60-$75 in cashback.
One person was on duty and was a quiet night with one other player in there, then none for about an hour, then one and a slow trickling of players. Played from about 3:15am to about 6:15 am.
Will I go back? I may go back and give their $1 9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe a whirl, or minus a decent bankroll for it, their ugly deuces... I do have decent points on the card now. Like everything, it has it's pluses and minuses. Giving up some on the paytables, but getting alot of other things to make up for it. And their $1 9/6 BPdeluxe with the points and such must be well into positive territory.
At any rate, I wish I could of booked a win for my first Dotty's experience but not meant to be. Maybe next time.
One more thing, I did notice alot of people coming in for cheap cigarettes. Lot's of cigarette sales I notice. Also a predominate female clientele, perhaps not a bad thing.
Cheers
