GAMES WITH MULTIPLIERS
I'm a recreational V/P player who enjoys playing all types of games, Deuces, DB, JoB, DDB, TDB etc as well as all varieties of games with multiplier features, Super Times Pay, Ultimate X, Quick Quads, Hot Roll, etc. I know how to read a pay table and how to determine which game is "the best" in those terms.
MY QUESTION IS, ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL (i.e. 9/6 DB) - is there any advantage to playing one of the many varieties of games with multipliers over another given their increased coin in??? I.E. - Super Times Pay (6 coins/hand), Ultimate X (10 coins/hand), Double Super Times Pay (7 coins/hand), Quick Quads (6 coins/hand), etc.
I'm basically trying to figure out if it's worth it to play the multiplier games or just stick to the 3/5/10 play machines that I also frequent.
Thanks in advance....

I've been "statistically allowed" to whiff too many times when the multiplier comes up....to where I just play JOB or BP hopefully hovering near break-even until the stars align with a --multiplier and good hand simultaneously dealt--to therefore let the multiplier do the work.....Too often between playing volatile games plus extra coins---end up hitting big to get back to even....To each his own...
It depends on personal preference....how deep are your pockets, do you care if W2G"S reduces return.....and how much do you love highs/lows of greed/action....
Only seriously play with money you can seriously afford to lose....

Great tips. Thanks a lot. I'm a newbie here, so this stuff is valuable for me.

Usually the extra coin features add to the overall return of a game, but ratchet up the variance (streakiness) significantly.
For example, 9/6 DDB QQ pays back 99.66% compared to regular 9/6 DDB at 98.98%. Some games like Split Card increase the payoff percentages but make the strategy MUCH more difficult.

Most of the games you listed do increase in return if you play the "bonus bet". Hot Roll does NOT change your expected return, however. So it depends on how much swings you want to encounter. DDB with Ultimate X is quite a volatile game. Also Ultimate X and Quick Quads require strategy adjustments to play optimally. STP and Double STP do not.
And I'm guessing you meant 9/6 DDB for the comparison? 9/6 DB isn't that great, especially if it's 9/6/4 DB. Another drawback about these "gimmick games" is that "full pay" games are much more difficult to find.

I've generally always limited my bonus coin play. While I've hit some nice hits, the extra .25% edge for some of the games doesn't seem to play out for me in the long run. But each to their own. If I play my favorite is a STP 100 play Deuces Wild version that offer's 5,600 for RF and gives 99/9% or about pay return. But, like many things in life, "variety is the spice of life". So each to their own.

Does that paytable still actually exist in Louisiana? Would love to give it a shot if I ever would make it down there. 5600 credit royals are fun! Haha

Haha[/QUOTE]Vman96,Yes, the pay table still exists in several Lake Charles casinos. Coushatta has 6 machines (50/100 play STP) with the pay table. Denominations range from 1¢, 2¢. 5¢ and 25¢ with minimum 10 hand play. If you ever get down this way let me know. Would love to meet.
