I used to play at the Rio years ago and it was spotless.
I went to visit if a few years back and it had gone down hill a bunch. All the dollar video poker machines had screen burn out where the cards are displayed.
I had some good times at that joint.
How did it look when you visited it this trip OneMoreTry... The machines we played $1 8/5 bonus poker on were just fine. They appeared to be relatively new. The graphics were clear and sharp, and there were no malfunctioning button issues.

I was actually playing at Main Street one day and got to witness a player get a 5,000 dollar scratch card. Most of the staff came around to see it as they rarely see one. The guy was playing on the full pay 10-7 DB machines near the valet parking doors.

My wife and I also did the quest for rewards while in Vegas. We played 9-6-4 DB at each property. The only place that we found with 50 dollars a point was at the Cromwell machines (with the good paytables) near the front door. The machines at the back were 10 dollars a point. We have made 15 casinos in our quest for rewards around the country.

Billryan...
In the last years I've been staying at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch. What got me going to
station properties was when they had 10/7 DDB. Now the best I've seen is 10/6.
Going back five years and before we stayed at Bally's "Host Rocky". Of all the hosts I delt with
Rocky is number one in by book the only thing I paid for in all my stays was for movies every thing
else he comped. Bally's holds a lot of good memories and one real bad one.
I hit my largest dollar progressive DDB for 9997 dollars, The best machine I've ever played was a dollar DDB Bar-Top
that was hitting a four of kind almost every 10 to 20 hands for around 5 hours it also hit a royal.
The real bad memory, Was the time we went with a couple that forgot there credit card, debit card and check book (Yeh Right).
They ran out of money the second day of a four day stay. When they found out about our comped free meals they
would not go eat unless we went with them. Would not leave our side, We gave them between 1000 to 1500 dollars
a bit at time for two days just to get rid of them for a while but as soon as they lost it they would come
right back and stand by our VP machines till we handed them another hundred. This kind of so called friends I don't need...
(I got so pissed that I wanted to tell them go F@*K OFF but the wife would not let me)...
We would visit the Rio on every stay I used to like it a lot because it was very nice and real dark in the area where we
played VP... (I never hit a royal at the Rio though)...

How many hours per day do you play? Most days, I think it would be in the neighbourhood of five hours or so. I don't like to play extremely long sessions anymore - two to two and a half hours at a time is plenty enough for me. Usually, there would be three or four sessions in a day.

CET had a company wide VP machine overhaul in late 2013. If the screens look bad now, they have problems.

Sorry you couldn't come home a winning omt, but sounds like you got a lot of play in!

I didn't read this little trip report until after posting an update on the M Resort in another section of these forums.

I'm curious if you noticed what we did on our last two visits to M: that many machines have been removed, so that the empty spaces and aisles seem gigantic.
For example, just next to the center bar in the casino, there used to be rows and rows and rows of Video poker upright machines, four machines to a row.
Now, there are just three machines in a row.
And, there are fewer rows.

Hate that M brought back that resort fee.

Thanks, Penn Gaming.

You can read my update on M elsewhere in this forum.

Does anyone here ever win at the M? We finally stopped going due to heavy losses on every trip. They comped a beautiful 2 story suite, but I could have paid for it and come out cheaper.  We are pretty loyal to Red Rock and GVR these days.
