Re: Interesting Blurb?
Scary stuff. I'll stick to VP. As long as I can see the odds on the machine, I'm OK with it. Slots are another matter. No thanks...

yeah but surely you caught the gist of the article Phil, that video poker too is now within the control and grasp of ONE lone individual sitting at command central in the casino nerver center, and that this person can, on a whim change just about anything and everything with the game. I suspect they can do so much more than what the article, or any other source, details. This is it kids.....the end is nigh.....casinos now can literally shut down the whole floor if they want to rake in the profit, and Jeter and I have seen this numerous times at Harrahs AC, whereby NO ONE is winning at anything for long periods. But then, lo and behold, suddenly people start winning, seemingly all at once! The person in the big chair with the mouse is having a blast, screwing around with the fortunes of people/

Mr. DaBurglar may I please point out that video poker was not mentioned ONCE in the article so how could video poker be in the "gist" of the article?
As for what you may have seen numerous times at Harrah's Atlantic City can you please provide tangible and incontrovertible proof of your claim? Otherwise this is merely your opinion.

As I have said, you are your own worst enemy......this post is going front and center with webman to demonstrate that ALL you are about is just harrassing and killing my posts and starting sh*t, and then you whine like a little child when I shove it right back up your fat %&%!

I don't believe anyone can switch the payouts of a video poker machine without switching the listed payouts.
It would be interesting to see if the listed outs of any given machine change during the week, but if the article I cited is correct, they can't change the payout of a machine while you are playing it.

Are we talking the same people? Half the crowd has slunk away with their tails between their legs, full of resentment and shame. I've seen the same thing at Caesars. When times are good, it's winner winner chicken dinner all over. When it's bad, you can hear the soft rock clear as a bell.

bill in some of the various state gaming regulations I've browsed you're right: machine payouts, odds, or payback percentages cannot be changed while the game is in use.

From the Back Office, a Casino Can Change the Slot Machine in Seconds
By MATT RICHTELAPRIL 12, 2006
This article is a mere eleven years old. It refers to a "high-technology experiment".
To me, it's quite a stretch to conclude, on the basis of the article, that, today, casino staff can manipulate machine payouts at their whim.

As long as I can know the odds before I play and the RNG is random, I'm good with whatever happens. As far as I'm concerned a 1.5% or less cut for the house is enough to play the games. I have seen the good and the bad, but I have never seen anything that would make me believe VP is rigged.I have heard from people who claim to be able to beat VP long term. A few even claim to live affluent lifestyles directly from their VP profits. As there is never any actual proof to back up these claims, it's up to you to decide for yourself. Personally, I think it's past history or B... S.... If others want to believe it's true, fine with me.What I do believe is that a player who seeks out good games, learns and plays with near perfect strategy and has the discipline to stay on track can play VP reasonably cheap. Throw in some nice rooms, drinks, food and a general good time and you have an entertainment bargain that few other recreational activities can match. Beats bird watching...
