I wonder how many of these supposed gambling addicts actually just use it as a prop to steal. Its so easy to say the money is gone, I lost it to illegal bookmakers and nobody goes looking for it.
About twenty years ago, a couple tried to claim they had lost almost $100,000 because they had dreamed they would win big in Vegas. They took cash advances on all their credit cards and even wrote some bad checks. Came home and claimed Jesus had told them to do it and they would win big. Some people actually had some sympathy for them until the casinos reported they had no footage of them actually gambling, just them taking out cash advances and markers. Money was found in an out of state safety deposit box.
How easy is it for a husband to file for divorce, claiming he lost all his money?
