Re: My Journey on Video Poker
What bigger bankroll? $250 is on the low side for you IIRC. You were just stubborn. Selecting maximum speed wound up helping you too. You captured the precise moment of RNG nirvana.

It's session bankroll, not total bankroll. And for .25c single
Line fpdw, $250 not a bad roll of planning to play just a few hours.
Regardless of that, addressing in a round about way an issue I see discussed from time to time....
went to the local casino to pick up some burgers and decided to hop on the closest poker machines, best game was 8/5 BP. But only for dollar play. .50c or less was 7/5. Having a brief amount of time and $200 in my pocket, decided to play single coin play dollar...as it pained me to do so, yes, my blood was boiling, my hands were shaking, my throat got tight, lol okay, exaggerating a little bit, but yes, I felt weird about it and if I hit the Royal I probably would of let out a Tarzan yell of anguish. So long story short, cashed out minus 30 bucks, went to pick up my burgers...but felt so guilty about playing single line, went back to the machine and bet full coin dollar bets, managed to hit some full houses, and cashed out up $20.
Now, I'm not saying anything is wrong with single coin play. Great budget play. But for me that's prepared to risk hundreds of dollars and not so interested in budget play per say, should stick to full coin bet. To each their own.
Cheers

Was anyone waiting for the burgers?
I don't read your blog very often but it seems like you need to work on your discipline.

Bill, improving discipline is like improving manners. Everyone needs improvement and some have more of it than others. I will say this, ur correct, I need to improve my discipline, but I have a feeling I'm not the only one here that needs improvement

Went back to my old nemises tonight, .25c single line10/6 DDB. Progressive was finally hit sometime after my last failed session to hit it. Now it was at $1010. Started with $400 and eventually found myself at $150 when I went on a mini-quad heater, hitting 4 quads in fairly rapid procession including the quad aces no kicker and found myself at $550. Played a little bit more and cashed out +$100 for this one.

Great. It's the initial -$250 which would destroy me. I hate to see a Progressive at $1,010. I've hit a RF for even less. But I'm ambivalent about even playing the game. But if it's a choice between that and the dollar machines, I damn well better get with the program and play the Progressive bank.

So battled another session of .25c single line 10/6 DDB. Grew frustrated as I hit several quads including two quad aces no kicker and a quad 3 no kicker but couldn't find traction. Started with $400 and was right around $400 when the progressive bank locked up by staff and I couldn't play on them until they unlocked it...which was who knows when.
So cashed out and decided to take a shot on the even more variant but exciting .25c single line loose deuce (100.14% ER). Now on this game, you either hit the deuces or royal no deuce or go home. I seemed to have several opportunities to hit the deuces but just couldn't seem to pop the 4th until I was down to about $100, then flopped three deuces, I saved them, and thankfully popped the 4th deuce and suddenly found myself from -$300 to +$315 as the deuces are worth a mammoth 2500 coins or, with the quarter game, $625.
So cool beans, always nice to pop deuces on loose deuce.
Cheers

Very nice. I like to play Loose deuces when I can find them. Nowhere left in AC that even has the 99.2% version.

Wild marathon session of .25c 10/6 DDB today. Played in the range of 7-8k hands. Hit two quad aces with the mocking 5 kicker, 2's with kicker, 4's with kicker, and other stuff but wasn't enough...
Started with $400 and went all the way down to $130 before hitting the first quad...then battled some before hitting zero. Put in another $100 and quickly lost that. I still had time to play so decided to get another $300 and right away hit aces with 5 kicker, but eventually dwindled down to around $200 when in quick procession hit another quad aces with 5 kicker and 2's with kicker. All in all, recouped $300 of the $500 that I lost. At one point was able to get even, but quickly went down but was too tired and late to keep battling.
So -$200 for this one and live for another day.

Dan do you play the same machine with all your play per session? Just wondering.
