If you have that figured out, you are much smarter than I am.

I know. If I regress 50 years or so and take a toke or two, I know I will understand all of this much more clearly.

[quote=billryan]Strange how you have no problem using an alias, yet constantly point out that Bob does.
[/quote]The man behind the name "Bob Dancer" is a skilled businessman.  I have always said getting players and casinos to pay you at the same time is brilliant.   He found a niche and molded it into a successful business.  You don't have to agree with anything else to respect what he has done. This forum should not be in the business of evaluating human beings.  The words "Bob Dancer" have nothing to do with a person.  They have everything to do with VP strategy.  "Bob Dancer" is a brand name for his products, like Jack Daniel, Ford or Hilton.  You don't have to agree with the founders personal choices to enjoy the product.  This person has also written at least a dozen books under this brand name.   His writing makes him open to discussions from the public.  We should get over the feeling that any mention of this name is a personal attack on the man. I don't know if this man is a saint or the devil incarnate and I don't care.  He's just a man trying to sell some products and he's doing a great job of it.  The true genius of his business strategy is the profits from the sale of his products and services fund his VP bankroll.  Using his superior skill and knowledge of the Vegas VP scene, he parlays his business cash flow into even higher profits.  His books fuel demand for his services, his fame grows and his winnings are funneled back through the system.  If he went public and issued an IPO, I would buy his stock in a NY minute. When "Bob Dancer" tells you that very few people can do what he does, you better believe It!

Any guestimate as to how many billions of revenue [over the years] that he has [directly/indirectly] assisted casinos in extracting from strategic genius [longterm] followers?????

I think you are assuming what he does is somehow wrong or unethical?   I disagree.   What he is using is our free enterprise system as it was intended.   No one is forcing anyone to buy his books or use his strategies.  I have practically every book he has ever written and four copies of his software.  I find those books entertaining and his advice helpful.   I do not subscribe to the idea that reading those books can make VP profitable for everyone.   He never promised to do anything for me except tell me how he wins and I believe him.  If someone reads what he says and ignores the parts they don't want to hear, it's their issue not his.  I know I can not play like him, so I play the way that makes me happy.

First of all, most of it was referring to a multiplier effect within the casino industry directly linked to his existence......
Secondly, I'll leave it to the pokergods to judge his contributions.
Thirdly, as you claim to [as I do] take responsibility and self-assess the highs/lows/mistakes of pursuing this hobby ---there are many, many thousands [if not millions by now] of broken players that blame themselves for not following his recipes properly.....
Lastly, keep in mind the timing of his meteoric rise:

VP was deemed the most addictive form of gambling.....
Geniuses computed optimal strategies to breakeven with[in some cases beat] the game...
Casinos don't even like breakeven.....
Casinos claim that Bob was a nemesis....
Casinos systematically browbeat/punish vp players nationwide....
Fast forward a few years...casinos invite/pay Bob to teach his vp strategies.....
Over the years we legally begin to question the purity of the game....

Just saying......while Bob was teaching us how to play/beat the game, he was teaching the house how to play/beat the player.....

As Alanis once asked...isn't it ironic??????

You keep being so enlightening/phil-osophical.....others may [hopefully] get much-needed 'aha' moments.....I question the motives of the few that beat you up so much for sharing your wide range of views......

I am a big fan of the persona "Bob Dancer" from a business perspective.  I am fascinated by his story and would love to know more about him as a person.  I don't envy his lifestyle, but I do respect his determination and skill.   I think his life story would be a fantastic book.
