The planning I talked about involved only the gaming. The only things strict about our schedule is:
1) Must arrive by noon of first day. ( Allows for good 12 Hours of VP)
2) Meals are room service when I can't hardly see the floor numbers in the elevator.
3) Must leave by 2 PM on day of departure. (Allows  us to be home by 2 the next morning. Delayed much longer and have to spring for another night.)

Meals, sleeping etc.. are dependent on ability to stay awake on a slant top or hold arms up on an upright.
Please understand when I go to a Casino, it is like going to work and pulling a double. Taking time out to take in some sights or attractions are simply beyond the scope of the trip.

Faygo, sounds eerily like some of my casino trips when we're back in MN. Fortunately, our trips back and forth aren't quite as long.

The first several trips to Vegas were like that for my wife and I too Faygo.  But I've mellowed a bit though my wife hasn't.  She has it down to a science!  Hit the hotel room and 10 minutes later, she's unpacked and on her way down the elevator and I only see her after that at mealtime...sometimes!I on the other hand, am far more casual about it.  I might take a nap before going downstairs.  Then, I might spend a couple of hours at the machines and another couple at the tables and intersperse a good hour or two just wandering around down on Fremont. Our flight back to Wichita leaves around 8:30am so we have to get to Mccaren awfully early to get through security and then the flight itself takes 2.5 hours.  Many is the trip that saw that last night for me being an all nighter and a true red-eye after all the Johnny Walker Black that last night!

I guess we have all been there at some time or another.  In all fairness to scorpio2's post, I should mention that we will adjust our trip a few days  each way depending on the size  and the timing of up front cash offers. 3x, 5x, points are of no interest to us , as AC does not have same day cashback. They use what is called bounceback cash that expires in 60 days. I've left a lot of coin on table there because we don't go very often. Some casinos there, because of the competion they now have in Philly are offering  (for example) $150 machine $s and if you accumulate an addtional set amount of points will give an addtional $50. This amount of course varies by the amount you have played with them in the past. An extra $400 between us can and does go a long way in our scheduling.

SM when we lived 20 minutes from Casino Windsor it wasn't unusual to leave and say "What, it's daylight out here"

My usual Vegas routine is an early morning flight from Denver, getting me to my hotel a few hours before I can check in.  One of my pet peeves is crowds of any kind, especially at airports, so whenever possible I get early morning flights coming and going, even if it costs more.  Pretty short flight from here, less than 2 hours.  I'll drop off my bag and play for a while until I can check in.  I budget for two sessions a day, and if I'm doing well I may get in about 18 hours of play each day with a nap tucked in there somewhere.  If I'm not doing well on a given day then I'll do some exploring, or catch up on my reading.

Also, the Honorable Senator Craig may be lurking in those restrooms.
