RIP Tom Petty

Post by DaBurglar »

Just when you think the day can not get worse, Tom Petty dies!!!!   Arghh

One of the all time greats, who did not achieve Michael Jackson level fame or riches only because he was neither photogenic, or a hypocritical sellout. Still was very rich though.... I am already missing the music ofhis band....

Ok well it's now starting to look like that he is not DEAD, but gravely ill and near death, sorry.

Yep. My point was bringing up some people who, in my mind have done much more good for the world than Tom Petty. Jerry Lewis, Hugh Hefner (he WAS a major benefactor to several charities), Ara Parseghian, and Monty Hall were all major fundraisers and benefactors to causes close to their hearts and no word was mentioned of them.

WTF, friggin ridiculous, and PETTY.....pun fully intended only because its YOU Ted.First off, the subject of this thread, Tom petty, was chosen only because in fact Tom Petty died the actual morning of when the thread was conceived (that's kinda how these things work....)   Second, many people in the past have either posted threads or single posts about the passing of someone famous or noteworthy.....and you did not criticize the fact that EVERY OTHER recently (or not so recently) dead celebrity was NOT also mentioned.  Tom Petty was a HUGELY successful musician, inducted in the R&R Hall of Fame and was admired and respected by a wide swath of his music peers on a level rarely seen....HE was the one who conceived and pushed to form the Traveling Wilburys, getting the likes of GEORGE HARRISON, BOB DYLAN and ROY ORBISON to make incredible music together (often regarded as one of the greatest, if not the greatest collaborative musical Superbands ever formed.)In fact....oh wait a second, YOU yourself Ted are known to mention or cite the death of celebrity or two when it suits you.....I seem to recall you recently mentioning "R.I.P.  Frank Vincent"  in a post when that actor passed away.   No one then jumped all over you for failing to mention ALL other recent character actor deaths....NOR is it kind, or even appropriate for YOU to then speculate or criticize the impact, importance and benefit of each individual on society as a whole, comparing one person's contribution "TO THE WORLD" to the next person's....YOU have no idea what the hell you are talking about.....and even if you did, who the flip are you?Anyone wishing to assess whether Tom Petty was worthy of remembrance or left a mark on the world for its benefit click here, or better yet do a google search of Tom Petty & Charity:https://www.looktothestars.org/celebrity/tom-petty  That burning sensation you now feel Ted, and the bright red color of you ears, is shame and embarrassment.   Friggin Frank Vincent.......??? unreal.   Hugh Hefner was a debauched perverted pornographer, but I will remember your enthrallment with him the next time you want to criticize me for managing the Marketing Function for a Paper Products and Packaging conglomerate that had TENS of thousands of customers of all sizes and industries, among whom maybe 6 or 7 were in the Pornography business and we sold them all the packaging they utilized to put their products in (including the plain vanilla packaging they used for MAIL Order business to customers like YOU who ordered their smut thru the mail and didn't want their neighbors, or their mommy to know what was being delivered to their room in the basement.)  Hypocrite.

O.K. Captain Obvious let's start from the top. In your insatiable thirst to prove me wrong may I point out that Tom Petty died at 8:40 pm PT on Monday October 2, 2017, he DID NOT DIE IN THE MORNING. You actually redacted (or tried to) your original post by saying that you had jumped the gun in your first post because he was NOT DEAD.

As for the others I mentioned, you honed in on Frank Vincent and Hugh Hefner and you "really" let me have it about Hugh Hefner; gigglesnort. Where, WHERE, in my post do I claim to be or give the illusion that: "I am enthralled by him?" Answer: NOWHERE.

I chuckled when you called Hugh Hefner a debauched perverted pornographer. I chuckled because you've written posts here about your attending porn shows, conventions, and the like. You even went so far as to post pictures of the event. Pot calling the kettle black, huh DaBurglar?

Getting to Mr. Frank Vincent. He was a very talented actor who appeared in many well known movies. He was also a well known cast member in a television series called "The Sopranos", ever heard of it DaBurglar?

You must be getting slow; it only took you 7 days to get around to responding to my post.

NOW GO GET YOUR SHINEBOX!!!!!

P.S. Edited to add the word "convention" with porn. I couldn't think of the word when I made this post.
