Re: Las Vegas Shooter
From Tomorrowland(2015)
Casey Newton: "There are two wolves" … You told me this story my entire life, and now I'm telling you: There are two wolves and they are always fighting. One is darkness and despair, the other is light and hope. Which wolf wins?
Eddie Newton: C'mon, Casey.
Casey Newton: Okay, fine, don’t answer.
Eddie Newton: Whichever one you feed.
Casey Newton: Good. Eat.

Billy, I like this story. It shows you have deeper thoughts than busting my yballs all the time. (Joke) Personally, I don't think the fact that the shooter was a big time VP player had anything to do with what he did. This guy had serious anti social issues. I like VP because I don't have to deal with some big mouth at a craps table, not because I'm a loner of some kind. I also don't think winning or losing had any influence on him either. For some reason this guy was mad at everyone. He probably had those tendencies since childhood. I'll bet he didn't have any close personal relationships other than people he could control. The media loves to come up with this stuff. Telling the public that the shooter lost big in a casino, then went out and bought a bunch of machine guns to get back at them hikes ratings. People that are against gambling must be having a field day. The good news is very few people have the money, intelligence and motivation to pull this off. If there ever was a case to be made for the "Devil" being alive and well, this is it.

From the internet( so you know it is accurate.)
The Tale of Two Wolves is often attributed to the Cherokee indians but there seems to be no real proof of this. It has also been attributed to evangelical preacher Billy Graham and Irish Playwright George Bernard Shaw. It appears no one knows for sure but this does not diminish the power of the parable.
This parable goes by many names including:
The Tale of Two Wolves
The Parable of the Two Wolves
Two Wolves
Which Wolf Do You Feed
Which Wolf are You Feeding
Which Wolf Will You Feed
It also often features different animals, mainly two dogs.
Excerpt from Google Answers:
Using Amazon.com's "Search Inside the Book" feature, my friend and
colleague Leli found two books which contain variations of the Tale of Two Wolves story:
From "The Holy Spirit: Activating God's Power in Your Life," by Billy
Graham (1978):
"An Eskimo fisherman came to town every Saturday afternoon. He always
brought his two dogs with him. One was white and the other was black.
He had taught them to fight on command. Every Saturday afternoon in
the town square the people would gather and these two dogs would fight
and the fisherman would take bets. On one Saturday, the black dog
would win; another Saturday the white dog would win - but the
fisherman always won! His friends began to ask him how he did it. He
said, "I starve one and feed the other. The one I feed always wins
because he is stronger."
From "Experiencing the Soul: Before Birth, During Life, After Death,"
by Eliot Rosen and Ellen Burstyn (1997):
"A Native American Elder once described his own inner struggles in
this manner: 'Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean
and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all
the time.' When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and
replied, 'The one I feed the most."
Thank you this proves my point exactly.....most didactic tales of wisdom, pithy parables and/or wise sayings have many (debatable) origins, and evolve over the years/decades/centuries.....they often can be found with their own unique versions in many different cultures, societies, faiths and lands. The one I posted was simply something i FOUND on the internet, thought it very good and worthy of consideration so I posted it (word for word), and it just happened to be the one from (or that mentions) Cherokee I.....there was absolutely NOTHING else behind, intended or to the post I made except to discuss the issue of hatred and ill-will which is rampant in society. The subsequent pointless hijack and rant by the resident master of ill-will and passive agressive, phony outrage and hostility just could not leave it alone or recant, instead he just doubles down as always, hoping to be the last one with the last word so that in his small mind he can call himself the winner of the latest round of BS that he starts.I have never ever posted anything racist or sexist, and to suggest such is a complete falsehood.

I see that you totally sidestepped the Casey Newton parable; berry picking to suit your purpose as usual DaBurglar.
As for your stating that you have never ever posted anything racist or sexist here in this entire forum is a complete lie.

So suggesting Ted had a degree from Cherokee School wasn't racist?

As for your stating that you have never ever posted anything racist or sexist here in this entire forum is a complete lie.I completely yield to your expertise and experience on the subject of lying, deception, falsehoods and phoniness, always. You are far far better at it than anyone I have never met.....EXCEPT of course when it applies to me, myself and anything related to me.It's incumbent on you NOW to show the viewing public whom you are enthralled to precisely where, when and in what manner I was racist OR sexist. I categorically deny anything of the sort, including this new, latest non-issue where I questioned and denied your self proclaimed LEGAL expertise by sarcastically stating it was a likely that you graduated from Law school as much as you did "Cherokee School" when you claimed such heritage (which again was a non-issue that YOU and ONLY you chose to bring up)....And yes, as your own post attested to, CONTEXT is vital, and you are incapable of discerning it.....

So suggesting Ted had a degree from Cherokee School wasn't racist? You know what, based on your past posts, where you go out of the way to show the public just how clever and quick witted and "smart & well informed" you consider yourself to be, this post above is a totally awful, poor attempt by you to feign naive, obliviousness to the obvious sarcasm and intent behind that statement; you are NOT that clueless, so it must be intentional.....that makes you as PHONY as the other guy, which actually BOGGLES the mind. The only things I have to say about your absurd, self-inflicted "veterans" potshot, are the type of things that will only inflame this gawd-awful thread further, so before this ends up as yet another closed thread, and before webman ends up removing any of us or all of us, I am going to allow (yes, ALLOW) you, and anyone else, the last word on this meaningless non-issue.I must say you come off good though appearing as Ted's tag team partner....you two go together like Salt &.....peter.

so before this ends up as yet another closed thread
Just barely.
What's happened here... it seemed like we were done with this personal spat for a while. Nobody appreciates it.
Closing thread. Feel free to open a new one to discuss the topic at hand.
