PS We really enjoyed playing Seneca when we were up there a few years ago.
That would have been quite a long trip for you. I assume there was more to it than just playing at Seneca Niagara.

You likely wouldn't recognize the casino if you walked in there today. They did a major casino floor renovation two or three years ago. In my opinion, the casino floor is now much easier to navigate, and feels more spacious.

Is 'River Lodge' comfortable and playable?

It is, indeed, now the Laughlin River Lodge. We haven't gone in there, so I can't comment on comfort. I understand they have NSU deuces at the $1 level.

The River Lodge is run by Dotty's. I have played there many times. The pay tables are not great but like most of Laughlin. However the place is really nice with comfortable chairs and not very crowded. They have an excellent view of the river as they are real close to it. You can play VP and look out the window watching the boats go by. Also they have free snacks for players like nuts, Hershey chocolates ect. You just help your self.

Is Aquarius still the best for vp? I do believe that Aquarius has the highest returning video poker games in Laughlin. They have 10/7 double bonus, 10/6 double double bonus, a 100% version of 9/6 JOB, and NSU deuces.

Most of those are at 25c denomination on the Optimum machines. There also is a 10/7 double bonus progressive at $1.

Our most recent trip to Laughlin was in late November, 2017. We flew from Buffalo to Laughlin on November 22, and returned to Buffalo on the 26th. We ended up somewhat down for the trip. At one point, though, it was looking really grim, with an ATM visit to enable us to play at Seneca Niagara during our stopover on the trip home looming.

We started with an afternoon stop at Seneca Niagara for lunch, and, afterward, played a bit of $1 pick 'em. in very short order, I dropped $100 , while my wife was down $200. Then, it was off to Buffalo and the flight to Laughlin. After we were settled in at Harrahs, we played triple line 98.91% deuces for around an hour, with me dropping another $100, and her another $200.

Thursday (Thanksgiving Day), we played only at Harrahs, since we had received, in a draw, a reward credit multiplier bonus. I thought it was three, but based on what we ultimately received, it must have been five. We played 50 line 5c bonus deuces wild, and 5 line 25c deuces wild. Overall, for the day, I was down $400, and she, $100.

Friday was much worse for her. A combination of similar play at Harrahs, plus triple line 8/5 bonus poker at Aquarius netted her a $1200 loss for the day, while I chipped in with another $400 loss. As I stated earlier, our prospects were looking grim, as we were down a combined $2700. Another bad day, and it would be ATM time.

Fortunately, Saturday was not a bad day. In fact, it was pretty good. We played some again at Aquarius and more or less held our own.   However, the 50 line 5c deuces wild bonus was great for us that day, with plus sessions of $500, $400 and $300 for me, and $1200 for my wife. She did drop $200 on other sessions, so was up "only" $1000 for the day. Over the three days of play on those 50 line machines, we totalled eight royals. three for me and five for her.

Our 2 night stopover at Seneca Niagara on the way home was good for her (plus $935 courtesy of a $2000 royal), and not so good for me (three losing sessions totalling $1000).

So, overall for the trip, down about $600 between the two of us. Not great, but a lot better than it was looking at one point.

I was at Aquarius on black Friday one time and the place was packed. Most woman went shopping and the guys headed for the casino.

I always like hearing about your trips. We will be once again driving cross country leaving Dec 26 and spending a month across the river from Laughlin. Then on to Vegas before the long trip home.
They did manage to locate and install the necessary part, but overall, we were on the ground in Las Vegas for about five hours.
Just curious.  Did you play any VP in the Las Vegas Terminal?  I know I would have.
