Re: My Journey on Video Poker
The reason of switching to .25c 5 play deuces was simple. One was I was building up points fast and have attained top slot status. Of course, the other was having great results....until now.
I guess it catches up to us sooner or later.
Another loss tonight, -$500. It was a lengthy fight, but machine never wanted to cough me up a quad deuce or Royal.
I gave back a lot the last two sessions and now I have to think about how I want to proceed.
I may just be thankful my run was as good as it was and go back to single line over 100% games again. I guess one could say I was riding the wave, but the wave appears to be breaking. Seems a good time to get off the wave before I hit the rocks. Taking last month into consideration, way up on .25c 5 play deuces. How up? Well, just taking this game into consideration, about +$1500 since Nov.
However, the ER and 5x variance is bound to catch up sooner or later. It’s a 98.9% game and added in points is a 99.4% proposition. So the game isn’t terrible, just not as good as full pay.
At any rate, starting to agree that quantity is not as good as quality when it comes to vp. But... It Was a fun ride!
Cheers!

A good start back to where it all started, .25c singleLine DDB with prog Royal at $1090.
Started with a $400 br. Never was down very much. Hit four quad 7’s. Jeez, too bad they weren’t aces. Also two quad 10’s, 2’s no kicker,
3’s no kicker, and a few others I can’t remember. So +$200 for this one.
Cheers

Another .25c 10/6 DDB session.
Very similiar to last session, except played a lot longer. Hit enough quads and a sf to stay in there and never dropped down much. Then at the end popped quad 3’s with kicker and cashed out up another +$200.
Cheers

How much have the mailers been relative to coin in? Any good?

Mailers not that good.
Legend status good-2 free movie tickets each month,
Two free buffets each month, vip parking, hotel:gift shop discounts, yadda yadda.....
Anyway, familiar struggles with 10/6 DDB .25c single
Line this session.
We give back the last two session wins, -$400. Had a $400 br. A long battle of ddb,, around 5k hands mark. No kicker hits, one quad ace no kicker. At one point up about a hundred...then a long descent downward. Then at around the $250 mark, a straight plummet downward. Oh well, welcome to the joys and sorrows of DDB.

A “flopped quads†session of .25c single line 10/6 DDB this time around indeed.
Thought I was in the twilight zone or something as fairly quickly in the early part of the session hit 4 quads pretty close to each other...all flopped!
Started with flopped quad aces...could not get the kicker, then flopped 6’s shortly after...then flopped quad 4’s with kicker, then pretty soon after that flopped jacks. Never remember flopping so many quads and close together (where is 5 play when I need it)? At any rate, was appreciated for sure and ended up +$400 for the session.
Cheers and happy holidays everyone!

Another .25c single line 10/6 DDB session. Started with $400, at one point down $200, then I caught 4 deuces no kicker. Then shortly after that, saved one ace and got three to match...again,
No kicker. Followed it up with holding two 4’s and getting the other two, this time with a kicker. All in all, up +$200 on the game.
Going out the door, had about $15 in free play to burn, so stopped at a crappy .5 (10 coin) single line royal progressive 7/5 DDaB game. A 95% game when it’s reset, it’s wildly popular because most players don’t understand a good game from a bad. They just judge it by am I going to hit a royal or not. But not to bash it too much, the progressive is fast, and I’ve seen the Royal over 1k many times...making it a 99% plus game with tons of variance obviously.
Anyway, hit quad aces on the game, no kicker again...and cashed out +$64. The bad news is, gave the $64 back on some dumb slot machine, don’t remember the name of the game. So +$200 total for this one.
Well, there it is. Happy Holidays everybody.

A very stingy .25c 10/6 DDB session this time around. Refused to give me anything good. -$400 for this one.

I decided to switch it up back to .25c 5 play deuces and took another loss, -$400. VP can giveth, and it can sure taketh.
I was going to lay another session but just wasn’t feeling it. I was hoping this month would be positive but not shaking up to be that way. I’m not going to force it. I might take a break at this point, depending on how work is next week. Cheers, happy Holidays and New Years!

Just finished up likely the last session of the year.
Started with .25c full pay deuces and squeezed out the deuces and cashed out a profit of +$300. Hit the ace kicker with it so thought maybe lightening strikes twice and went to the progressive bonus deuces wild single line .25c game. Royal was at $1063 and deuces with ace was at $629. Didn’t hit the ace kicker, but did hit the deuces and two 5 of a kind aces and cashed out of that game for another +$300.
So all in all, a +$600 session and puts me in the black for the month.
That caps out a decent vp record for the year and onwards to 2018.
The only resolution I have is no resolutions, and will just take 2018 as it comes.
So happy New Years, happy Holidays, and hope 2018 is a good one for all of us.
Cheers!
