Early in the morning I asked the Ti players club if we could have a late check out, they said yes. Usually they don't. Checked on the Mirage bartops and saw the progressive was hit. I had $100 of FP to run at the Mirage and converted it to $90 - which with my points covered the room charges. Ate at the Mirage breakfast buffet. It was quite good and debatably worth the $19.

I had $250 of FP at Ti to run and converted it to $245. CP was wanting to play some STP so we hit up V/P. After watching him for a while I tried a DDB ULTX as a last harrah. This hand came up and I thought about it for a while and went for it.

Whiffed it, with only one flush and a job. A $2000 royal would have been nice.

Looks like the final trip tally is -$3200.

Dang a 10X royal would have been sweet there. And I'm surprised you converted 6 flushes the hand before!

Sorry your trip went how St. Archer IPA tasted (to me anyway). Maybe it was a bad bottle.

Yeah I did marvel at catching 6 flushes on the hand before.

What killed me this trip was on all my .50 play was catching only one quad (aces the first night). The .25 10 coin at the Mirage was even worse - completely quadless.

For the whole trip I only caught 3 quads with kickers playing DDB/TDB. 2 were nickels on ULTX, with no mults, and the one on WPQQ.

I probably played enough for a royal cycle, but denied again.

Limited $1 play was slightly positive, a minor consolation.

Playing 10 hours a day with a $3000 BR is losing $100 an hour, would be the theo loss of playing $1 9/5 DDB at 1000HPH. Most games I played were better than that at lower stakes at a slower pace. It just goes to show what can happen when royals don't happen, quads are slow and premium quads are nearly non-existent.

He left a deposit for his next trip.

I switch denominations based on where I'm at slash want to play too. And when switching up denominations, running better on the lower denominations and terribly on the higher denominations is the worst. Hope it goes the other way next time!

Scary cautionary tale. We get so entranced by the high denomination. In fact, this should be saved for our last quarter to half hour of play. I'm sick of the $100 hourly loss myself! Misery loves company.

It was a nice trip report, thanks for posting and sharing as it happened... I'm sorry you're VP play was so fruitless, it seems you just don't have the timing that others seem to have, although I doubt it has anything to do with you NOT doing good things in your life, you seem like a good person and the fact you took your dad along says a lot about you and the KARMA you do deserve!

You are wise enough to know VP is all about luck, nothing else, so save up, get another bankroll of money you can afford to part with and try again... I have a feeling you'll do better next time (wouldn't be too hard, right? Lol). Thanks again
