Why is it that you think my comments about an elderly neighbor moving to assisted living was a swipe at you?
The cantankerous old guy I mentioned, has arthritis so bad that he couldn't make the hook up any more, and felt it was time to get some full time help. It's an everyday occurance out here.   

Further, I think it's admirable that you are able to live your life independently. I have several friends who aren't as fortunate, but work tirelessly at doing the best they can.

As for "attempting" to answer the rest of your questions, I'll pass lest I offend your delicate sensibilities.

I dunno' why I assumed at least 'a little' of your colostomy bag humor was meant for me other than I guess I cannot help but identify with anything that pertains to physical disability and challenge, the same way your identity tends toward Marines and issues related therein, or African Americans identify with racially centered stuff, women with feminist stuff, Canines with "Animal Planet", etc.These threads take on lives of their own, and you often cannot make subtle-enough comments without someone, especially me, not quite getting the gist intended.....I honestly have no strong feelings about colostomy bags one way or the other.....avoid being around large room fans when emptying them.
