Re: Are These Games Rigged?
I doubt that the machines are rigged in this way. The most likely explanation is a malfunctioning hold button or a same colour card, as has been suggested. My main question for Phil is: If you are 100% certain that the games are rigged, why did you keep playing?

Someone in AC please head over there to verify/refute this... if it happens that often.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Often enough to notice. I feel confident in backing them up on this. I had some bizarre card retention on my draws there as well. It wasn't my imagination.
Take one for the team, tape it, and Eduardo will pay you $100?
I still think this is a STUPID way to cheat players.

I do not believe any video poker games are rigged unless I see something concrete that shows me otherwise. Until this week I had never seen anything that would give me the slightest hint of a rigged machine. I saw all I needed to know at the Borgata. I checked out early and left AC as soon as I could. If you believe those games are fair, good luck. Don't say I didn't warn you.
The problem is easy to describe and quite obvious once you are made aware of it. Unheld cards are being held. The card blinks and the same card appears in the second hand. No it's not a different suite, it's the exact same card. It's intermittent, on different games and on different machines. We observed it at different times, but we never could find a pattern.
It is possible the machines weren't rigged intentionally. It could be a maintenance issue. Someone in that casino knows there is a problem and lets it continue. You can draw your own conclusions as to a motive. As far as I am concerned it's a non issue as I am not going back.

But you didn't see this one or twice. You saw it several times. You deem it a bad enough situation to warn others. So why did you keep playing long enough to see it happen several times?

To verify it was real. Once we were convinced we stopped playing. Why are you making me out to be an idiot? If you don't believe me, play there and leave me out of it. If you do, you deserve what you get. I don't give a damn.

Did the "HELD" text appear above the card in question or only above the other 4 cards?

The HELD text appeared above the cards that were held. Nothing above the car that was not held. When you hit the deal button, the unheld card blinked for a moment and the exact same card that was discarded appeared. I saw this myself at least a half dozen times. It was like the hold button was sticking, but the HELD text did not appear.

I have been playing there for years and have never noticed this. My results for the last 15 years there have been right within expectations. But I will give Phil the benefit of the doubt and make sure I look for this from now on.

It's a bad enough situation he should have got whatever "shill" gaming enforcement division New Jersey has involved. But he did try to talk to someone at the casino at least. (Note: I wrote "shill" mainly due to other key forum members' opinions on AC.)
We did report it to a slot attendant. She called the floor manager. We waited for an hour, but he never showed. We know what we both saw. Use this information as you see fit.
The slot attendant didn't review the hand in question on his/her own in front of Phil??? The two times I've seen hand reviews happen, the attendant didn't need to call a manager before reviewing the hand.
