Re: Are These Games Rigged?

If you Google Video Poker you will see scores of posts and videos telling the public how
to beat video poker.  Marketers sell the idea that beating video poker is a learned skill.  Beating VP over a lifetime is a combination of opportunity, work, skill, luck and "Yes" intelligence.  There are only a handful of players who make money playing the game compared to millions who try. In recent years, video poker games have been getting tighter and tighter.  Marketers have moved to selling $5 games as the answer to dropping odds.  For the majority of players this makes video poker an even bigger loser than it was before.   I have no problem with discussing $5 or bigger games. All I wish to point out is that playing bigger alone is not a guarantee of profits.  This forum is seen by a widely diverse group of people.  Leading players to think VP is more easily beatable at higher denominations could leave some into a financial quagmire.  If this doesn't bother you, fine.   It bothers me.Back to the Tampa Hard Rock.  What exactly are the positive opportunities at this casino?  This casino is a good discussion topic for this forum and discussing  it's VP  could be useful to many.  It's operators know how to run a profitable enterprise and we love playing there.  It has better than average VP odds for an East Coast casino.  If there is enough interest, we can open a new thread.  I will do my best to keep an open mind. Convince me that there is a genuine VP profit to be made there.  I'm listening,..

I suppose you could circle the ULTX machines like a buzzard and hope people leave multipliers behind.

Phil doesn't care about winning or losing. It's the action he craves. We are supposed to respect that.

That's not true at all.  I want to win as much as anyone.  Our expert tells us if we play positive VP games perfectly we will win.   Sounds good to me.   I am also told I am ignoring positive opportunities in my own backyard.  I doubt that,   If so, where are they?

Talk is cheap.  What we need is real information, not fairy tales.   Tampa is an above average Casino in a prosperous area of Florida.    I challenge anyone to show us a positive VP opportunity in that casino.  I will be there on Friday and will be happy to verify it in person.   If I am wrong, I will say so right here.   Let's hear it.

Phil, it's useless to even point out positive opportunities to you because 1) they may be for stakes you're not comfortable with, but mostly 2) they require you to play virtually error-free VP, which you have admitted you do not do.

For you personally, I doubt there are many +EV VP opportunities. For the general VPer who is willing to put in time to learn the proper plays, I'm sure there are plenty of them.

[/quote]I doubt there are any positive VP opportunities in Florida for anyone.   If you can find one and prove it, I will happily mail you a check for $100.  Just so you know, my checks don't bounce.

Positive VP paytables? I doubt there are any. Positive VP plays? I'm sure anyone could find one without too much difficulty.
