Racism still rampant in police departments

Why would unarmed blacks be 16 times more likely to be shot by police than unarmed whites, in the city of Milwaukee?
Also, gotta love the bullsheet euphemism of the police who refer to stun guns as "electronic control device"...that alone, right there, tells you they KNOW what they are doing is wrong. It's a stun gun, pure and simple, always has been, always will be.
I have to admit, when I come across racist people in my real everyday life, I can't resist exposing them and making them look as guilty ( and dumb) as they actually are...

Let's not loose sight of what started this whole episode: the elitist millionaire basketball player was illegally parked in not one, but two handicapped parking spaces.
If the elitist millionaire basketball player simply addressed the police in a polite manner, i.e. "I'm terribly sorry officer, I apologize for parking illegally and I will rectify the situation immediately. Furthermore, in lieu of a citation I will make a donation double the amount of any fine, to a local organization that helps the handicapped."
That would have been the ADULT way to handle it instead of fighting with the police.
But hey, let's keep posting these articles and see what kind of rise we can get out of people. Where is the outrage about the people who have suffered at the hands of MS-13? You want to talk separation? How about the people who have been separated from their loved ones after they were carved up by MS-13 when they were still alive?

Did you even watch the video?
Absolutely, the guy deserved a ticket...but clearly the officer jumped to confrontation beyond any reasonable need or provocation....and that is what I posted about, not MS-13. They are criminals, I'm asking about the police, the authorities who are supposed to be better.
Your response is classic deflection and misdirection. How about the millions.... MILLIONS of lives the US government has separated from their loved ones since 1965 in all the unjust and stupid wars it has engaged in all for the sake of the massive military industrial complex???? Ridiculous response to a legit question, which I'll repeat:
Why is it 16 times more likely for an UNARMED black man to be shot than anyone else who is unarmed, by the police?

Yes I watched the video. Again, let's go back to the genesis of the event: had he NOT created a situation to begin with, there would not have been a situation.
Did the officers then escalate the event? This then gets into what the mindset of the officers was. You REALLY have no clue HOW FAST a situation like this can change into a quick reaction situation for a police officer.
Where are all your posts about ambush shootings of police officers? You are quick to judge the bad officers, and there are a few. But the way you portray what you write here is an indictment of the whole profession. Right now this is a bleak time to be in law enforcement and it's not getting any better based on your actions.
Getting to your last sentence: why is it 16 times more likely for an UNARMED black man to be shot than anyone else who is unarmed by the police?
One reason for this statistic is logistics. High crime areas. Example: how much open air drug dealing is taking place in Highland Park, IL compared to the west side of Chicago? Please feel free to substitute any relatively affluent suburb for Highland Park, IL and also please feel free to substitute any other war zone for the west side of Chicago.
Have you ever EVER mistaken a cell phone in a person's hand for any other object? Now make this mistake when you are a law enforcement officer chasing a suspect through a dark alley and the suspect qucikly and suddenly turns toward you? Your adreneline is racing through you; how would YOU react? Especially when you may be in fear for your life?
You should be a bit less quick to judge.

From a family of Police Officers, both my brothers, nephews, great nephews, I can tell you that they don't wake up in the morning and think "lets go shoot me some black people". You don't know what's going to happen in that split second when the chit starts, trust me. When is old Colin going to take a knee for all the wonderful going ons in Chicago?

Police in Seattle and Portland shoot more unarmed whites than blacks. Wanna guess why?

Do police officers have a potentially dangerous job, with elements of uncertainty? of course (but also, they KNOW this when they sign up for it, and it is explained to them, quite often that this is the situation...and then they drill and prepare for such things so that, if and when the situation arises, their training kicks in and the aforementioned "anxiety filled adrenaline rush" that any unprepared civilian would experience is greatly diminished in a trained professional law enforcement officer) Or at least, that's what is SUPPOSED to happen.....The fact that their job is at times stressful and dangerous, however, does not excuse or lessen the seriousness of actual practice and perpetration of racist policies or behavior.....this line of argument (or excuse) is ridiculous, and if your going to criticize me asking the question I did, you cannot revert to this specious argument/line of reasoning in doing so....Are there more "non-racist" cops than racist cops in general? Of course, but equally obvious is the fact that their ARE indeed racist police officers mixed in throughout various departments, and as in any similar organizational dynamic, the sins of a few rotten apples can taint the organization as a whole, even though this should not be the case. I don't like such things and always try to "judge" people individually, one at a time, which is the only real, just and fair way to assess any group or organization involving human beings.....you take them one at a time. But at the same time, stats can tell at least part of the story, and the existence of videos such as the one I linked provide insight that is valuable for assessing the individual(s) wearing the actual camera. The african american ballplayer in this video, committed the "crime" of parking his car across two handi-spots.....obviously such an offense does not itself warrant being "shot" or otherwise assaulted with any type of weapon, be it firearm, or electronic, or bully club etc. In this video it is OBVIOUS the officer was itching for some sort of confrontation, and the subsequent rapid deployment of five squad cars in support for a parking violation is extremely weird and begs the question...."really???"I have two cousins who spent the better part of their lives in Law Enforcement, achieving pretty high ranks in their respective organizations, so I too have some pretty good insight on exactly what is going on from the perspective of the police (and FBI, as one of my cousins spent 19 years, 11 as a special agent working Drug Crimes). There are Painfully, Obviously, indeed some really rotten, amoral, CRIMINAL elements in the world and in contemporary American Society.....organizations, and individual people, of all colors, shapes, sizes, genders, vocations etc. It is law enforcement's job to contain and eliminate (where feasible) these "bad" elements and individuals......we give the agents of law enforcement very large and extensive POWERS to accomplish this goal, but as the cliche goes, "with great power comes great responsibility".....Racism and Prejudice in general have NO place in the practice of law enforcement and the utilization of such power. The latest report from the US Government Inspector General, detailing certain areas of political "prejudice" in the investigations of both Hillary Clinton and Trump shows that this is the standard to which law enforcement should be held.If there is no tolerance or excuse for POLITICAL Prejudice, then quite obviously, there is even LESS room or tolerance for RACIAL Prejudice in the practice of Law Enforcement. I think that sums up the point I was hoping to make at the start, not "indict" Police everywhere under some all encompassing racial taint!*Edited to add* I have not broached the topic of INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM (or "Racist Policy & Agendas") which we most definitely know existed throughout the USA in Most cities and towns up to and after the Civil Rights Movement in the late 1960s.....As late as the mid 1990s in cities like Los Angeles and New York the Police Departments actively engaged in what appeared racist behavior that permeated their cultures.....Rodney King's video did more to expose this than anything, as did Mark Fuhrman being deconstructed on live T.V. by F. Lee Bailey, thus leading to a real bonafide murderer getting away with his homicides. And NYC's STOP & FRISK baloney is pretty self destructing. Those of you who like to hearken to our Founding Fathers' collective intentions when they wrote such things as the sacred 2nd amendment probably do NOT want to invoke the likes of Adams, Jefferson and Madison (and certainly ol' Ben Franklin) when thinking about Stop & Frisk and what that would mean to the founders and authors of the US Constitution.Consider the day, which is certain to come, when Hispanics are the majority in the USA, or at least extensive swaths of the country....what will happen when a modern day General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana is mayor of Los Angeles and orders his police to stop and frisk any and all "gringos" on the street?

Ok you know what, I MISSED a really crucial detail in the 30 minute body Cam video that I only picked up on when I listened to the BRIEF, edited CBS news clip (which I skipped because I typically do not listen to network news clips due to their typical slant, either liberal or conservative....in CBS you typically get Liberal Bullsheet). The police officers initially did NOT know this guy was a player for the Milwaukee Bucks, and it is only AFTER they realize who he is, when he is down on the ground after being tasered, that they suddenly realize they have really stepped in a pile of crap. They instantly know they are in trouble and start lamenting that fact. Sure enough, the mayor and their own chief let them have it the following day(s)!Go to the 8 minute mark in the video......the guy is surrounded by SIX (6)! officers!!!! Come on, they totally bum rushed this guy simply because it was pretty cold outside and he kept putting his hands in his pockets (he's a BASKET BALL PLAYER, his hands are his livelihood!) The fact that cops face dangerous uncertainty everyday is just that, as FACT.....this is NOT one of those facts. This was arrogant, BORED, white (all of them) cops ganging up and abusing an african american man, PERIOD.When he is down, just before he is recognized as a Milwaukee Buck, you can clearly see one of the officers intentionally stepping on the player's ANKLE (another part of his livelihood)! You want to explain THAT?!?!?!?!Nope, this isn't an "indictment" of police everywhere, just these six jerks who shouldn't be cops anymore.Edited to add: Check out the police officer actually rejoicing in the fact he is going to get OVERTIME for this incident, singing "money money money money!" That's splendid, a guy obviously serving the public with the right attitude and priority.....You really have to wonder about the INTELLIGENCE of these clowns, who must KNOW by now with their Body Cams (along with ubiquitous, ever present citizens with all manner of recording capabilities in their hands these days).....why on earth would you behave so ineptly and outrageously, unless you truly felt that, despite wearing these devices, the racist climate and undercurrents in the department and city of Milwaukee will "quash" any behavior like this if these recordings are ever truly examined.....unless of course, it just HAPPENS to be who it Happened to BE, a NBA player on the city's Pro Team, a team that probably contributes QUITE a bit to the Milwaukee Police Department's overall Budget and capabilities in the form of TAXES! Doh!

A plumber's hands are his livlihood; a carpenter's hands are his livlihood; an electrician's hands are his livlihood; a janitor's hands are his livlihood; a truck driver's hands are his livlihood, and the list goes on. Recognize a pattern?
The man FAILED TO OBEY A LAWFUL POLICE ORDER.
