What would you do?

Post by billryan »

Free gift day at a local casino and it's a bit crowded. I'm playing ten play DW for $6.00 a spin.
Guy comes along , sits next to me and puts $100. He plays Deuces for $3 a spin and quickly loses it. Another $100 goes just as fast, as does another $20. He leaves. Older woman sits down and starts playing spin poker at $15 a spin. She drops several hundred and leaves with zero cash out. Meanwhile I am down $40 after about $2,000 coin in.
Do you change machines?

My answer is generally no unless I feel like I need to get up for a break regardless of what happened on the other machine.

Some people just pick one machine and stick with it or have a "favorite machine" and always go to that. My general rule is if I drop 200 credits I cash out the ticket and move to the next machine down the row

video poker machines, slots, are like NASCAR some days the cars are fast and loose and some weeks slow and tight.common sense is your barometer.

I usually sit at a dollar machine and if I'm down 200 credits with nothing to show or I hit a 4 of a kind or better before that I switch my machine. I have a couple favorites that tend to treat me well or at least let me almost break even on the good days but they can be just cruel when they want to be.

I would not swap machines. You never know how close to strategy people are playing.. plenty of times I’ve had people sit next to me complaining “House always wins” while they hold AAKK in double double bonus.. or my personal favorite a duce with any face card like 2k out of 2k793.. if the machines have the same payback ride it out until you need to take a walk like vman said.
