To those who have made significant money with VP: What do you do?
For players who are either VP pros, or have significant long term positive results: What are the ways to do so?
There are some machines out there that payout >100%. It seems like the Station casinos in Vegas have plenty of >100% machines but they are capped at the $.25 and if you only play those I heard you get flagged and don't get much in terms of comps. So I guess you could grind those out for a few bucks an hour. And according to vp2free there are a few other casinos with >100% payback machines in Vegas at the $1 level. Is that a viable option?
What are the other ways to make money in VP? Do you have to scour the country in search of progressive machines where the jackpot is high enough to make it >100% pay back? Or play games with pay tables that are almost 100% and get the rest via comps and promos?
You don't have to give the specific details of what you specifically play and where if that would compromise something but I'd like to know what kind of strategies profitable advantage players are using in 2018.

My best advice would be to go to the Recreation Forum, read the nonsense posted there about whatever and realize just how much bs there is out there.
I have no idea why the owners of the site allow voodoo to be discussed here, but it denigrates the entire site and keeps most serious players from posting.

At Boulder Station they full pay 0.05 cents, 0.10 cents, 0.25 cents, 0.50 cents and also 1.00. So you do not just have to play quarters. If you will get some comps but they may exclude you from drawings and other things.
VP gets harder every year to make money at as pay tables are not as generous as they once were. Me and my wife love free rooms and food when we travel so we give up a small percentage to accomplish this. Though we do most of our gambling in Vegas we will play at some casinos that do not offer full pay (but close) because the free rooms and food do have value. We live 2000 miles away. We do not gamble on the strip unless we are chasing a promotion. In 2017 we spent 108 nights in hotel rooms and paid for just 3 of those. Food was free in Vegas as long as we stayed in B-Connect casinos, Station Casinos and a few downtown. We have never yet had to pay any resort fees.
So my point is there is more to look at than just profit in dollars. We also get invited to many free tournaments and have had many cashes including $5000 in a VP tournament.
If you lived in say Vegas the rooms might have no value.

What is Voodoo? Is Voodoo a poster? Or a VP strategy?billryan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:50 amMy best advice would be to go to the Recreation Forum, read the nonsense posted there about whatever and realize just how much bs there is out there.

Rooms have value to locals. You would be surprised how many long lost acquaintances hit you up for places to stay.

The reason they do is because not everyone has access to positive VP games. Vegas players have a big advantage when it comes to VP. The competition among casinos is brutal. My mail box is full of Vegas offers. Some of these casinos offer positive games.billryan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:50 amMy best advice would be to go to the Recreation Forum, read the nonsense posted there about whatever and realize just how much bs there is out there. What Billy is saying is that anyone who doesn't have access to these games is not worth listening to. I am sure he would like this forum to be "All Advantage Play All the Time". The rest of the VP world is not like that. Most players do the best they can with what is available. The Recreational Forum is there so we can discuss the VP we play, not Billy's VP.

The recreation forum exists so math challenged individuals can make nonsensical claims not supported by math and claim since they don't play for profit that the laws of mathematics don't apply.
It was created to keep Florida Phil from infecting other forums with his bs. It's a shame Phil doesn't live up to his promise to keep his stuff there, but is anyone surprised?

I never made any promises to you. I promised Webman I wouldn't break the rules and I'm keeping that promise. Go ahead and can get yourself banned again if that's what you want. I'm done with that foolishness.

NO. I agreed not to post on the Strategy Forum in order to make "BD" happy. You took that to mean you were free to say anything you wanted about me and I could not respond. You couldn't control yourself and got yourself banned from the Recreational Forum. Webman agreed to reinstate everyone's full forum privileges if we agreed to obey the forum rules. I am doing my best to abide by the rules while you are calling the Recreational Forum BS. If you are going to be a useful member of this forum, stop calling people names.
I understand Advantage Play math better than you think I do. If you can gain an advantage on the casino, use it. If not, I think you should limit your losses. That's my whole strategy. If your purpose of being on this forum is to pick a fight, find someone who cares. I don't
