There isn't a line out the door of the high limit rooms. It's almost like everyone already knows this somehow.
There was a time when I played VP in the high limit room. On some days I had to wait to get a seat at the best games. Gradually the odds dropped and the room emptied. I drop by every now and then to check the odds. It's like a tomb.
"You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." - Abraham Lincoln
That may be the most terrifying thing I've ever read on this forum.
It wasn't pretty. Not everyone is cut out to be a VP profiteer. You must know your limitations, and I do. You must know the limitations of the games you have to play and the comps that are available so you can evaluate your chances for profit. My chances are zero. Eventually you either quit the game or find something what works for you. I'm still working on it.
Does it upset me because I don't make money playing VP? No, because I don't expect to. All I want out of the game is a good day's entertainment at a reasonable price. That's what I get.
A wise man once said that winners calculate their decisions, while losers base their decisions off of recent experience.
It took me awhile but I finally understand.
Terrifying for you, mouthwatering for casino owners.
For sure. If I was the only long term VP loser in this world it wouldn't be an issue. If you are going to teach people to beat the casinos, you should make sure they understand the challenges.
Challenges like understanding that quarters are smaller than dollars.
Seems obvious doesn't it? The next time you see someone throwing $25 a hand into a Video Poker machine, stop and ask them if are living a "nice lifestyle" off their VP profits alone. I'm sure you will get a big YES. Ask if they can prove it and see what they say. They will most likely call you an idiot and walk away. If you push the point, they may want to fight. I'm not saying anyone can't. I'm saying talk is cheap. I read all kinds of stories on the Internet and in books about players getting rich playing VP alone. I have yet to see anything to back them up. If I ever do, it would change my outlook. I won't be holding my breath.
The next question should be "What kind of proof would satisfy you?" This is very easy to prove without divulging any personal information. On every itemized tax return there is an entry for "gambling winnings". There is also an offsetting entry for "gambling losses". The net is the taxable amount. All high income tax payers use a CPA to file their returns. Have their CPA release and verify those two numbers for the last 10 years. Then we will know how much a VP funded lifestyle is really worth. Chances are I will hit a $100,000 royal before anyone ever does that. If they ever did and it proved to be highly profitable, it would silence a lot of critics. Me included.
Can you please share 10 years of your tax returns with us to verify some of the many things you have stated on this forum? Some people are very skeptical about your claims.
