She did say the upper end was "not my normal denom." and $500 worth of "fantasy money" so to speak. Yes, you do have to treat it as your money because thats what it took to earn $500 in slot play to begin with. However, she did'nt ask for adventurous tips or tips on blowing the money!
Went and played MS/STP on the freebies and blew through 400 credits like nothing.

Well, I look forward to hearing what she decides.

I would play it conservatively and it sounds like most people here would as well. If she does decide to play something like she originally said of $1 5 line STP, then I hope it pays off! Best of luck!

Yes. I played Deuces the entire trip, not a hand of anything else. That kept my bankroll fairly steady for the most part and I had a lot of coin-in. It earned me some comps, which was nice, but I ended up losing as you know.

Unfortunately playing only deuces meant to win anything big, I would have to hit deuces or a royal, and I hit neither. But playing some STP gave me some good chances at a win with a wild royal as well. I had some pretty good wins spread throughout, but never the big hand that was needed to come out on top once I was down.

My next trip I think I will play a mix of DDB and Deuces, but deuces is pretty good for getting coin-in and probably a good game for a situation like this topic presents, if the pay table is good.

You might also try double double jackpot and super aces. DDJ gives you the same payouts for quad aces except the kickers are J Q K  not 2 3 4. super aces pays 2000 for quad aces as opposed to 800 on DDB. If you can find them, they're a nice alternative and you don't give up any coins on the lower payouts like some bonus games do

How about triple play DDB using multi denomination? Start out at the $1.00 level with a loss limit of $300.00 and then switching to .25 denomination either if you hit a couple quads or drop to $200.00? If you are money ahead then you can easily play the $500.00 pluse keep whatever profit you may have left?

Just save yourself all the anguish and let me know where you will be at and I'll play it.

Mr. "Conservative" here speaking:I really wouldn't recommend DDB with it's 42% variance if you are looking for a game to extend you play.  Spend a little time learning DB (28% variance) and if you can find a 10/7 paytable (not all that difficult) you will likely play it longer than DDB simply because of the variance.  With an unlimited bankroll....well, DDB is an attractive option! If you are looking to play the comps, then probably BP or DW or JOB is the way to go.  Just not a lot of those 15-million credit payoffs in those games

Her consideration was STP/ DB at the $1 level not too bad an option however you play the extra coin per hand. It's nice if you hit big on the upper tiers but MAN!, you can cut through your credit balance quickly!

MikeA and youbonash, thanks for the suggestions!

I'm not sure why i decided on DDB as a good idea for me.  It really isn't.

I think the main reason I played deuces last trip was because that was the best pay table at the hilton, where i knew i would do most of my play. I don't remember seeing some of the other games but I also wasn't really looking.

Hilton has okay payouts on DB and jacks or better so I should maybe practice both of those.  Their next best payout to deuces is jokers wild, which I have not played AT ALL.

How are the pay tables generally on the strip for the games you mentioned, youbonash?

Decisions, decisions... looks like I have some studying and practicing to do!
