What are your favorite Quick Quads holds?

Post by Eduardo »

This isn't for talking about complete strategy since that can be found in the Quick Quads Strategy topic. I just want to know what holds get you the most excited.
Personally, I really like a 2 2 4 4 hold. Good chances at a full house, and the shot at drawing a 4 for the quick quad.

And of course... the kicker holds!

But 2244 is probably my favorite right now (Maybe because I hit on it this morning )

My favorite is Five to the Royal Flush.

I hate gettting 5 to the royal on the deal. I feel like I'm cheating.  I throw them all away and try to get a royal in another suit.

The other advantage of 4422 (or 2211,6633,8844,TT55) is you always end up with no worse than two pair.

However, it would be interesting if the game did pay back on quick trips (IE. 6642, etc.) like Faygo mentioned. I might do a quick analysis later to day to see what that would do to the game return.

Aside from "pat" hands, the one that gets me into a turmoil emotionally is something like 4443? with DDBWorst case is three of a kind on all 5 hands which ain't chopped liver!Next is a Full house draw.Higher potential is holding the 4443 and drawing the ace for a QQ for 400Then, you have the outside possibility of hitting that 4th 4 which would leave you with a 3 kicker and 1000 credits!4443? is a loaded cannon!

That would be very interesting to see. If not too much, maybe a little, one would hope it could be added to the game. (If the wabbits are listening). It would help, I believe even out the swings a little and make the game more playable before going brankrupt.

Adding quick trips to the DDB game yields a payback of 104.6%, and that is with just getting even pay for them. It could be done with adjustments to other paytable items. Probably the only reasonable approach would be to drop regular trips down a notch at 2-1 and making minor adjustments in the quads. This would go right back to making the game bumpy.
The only other way would be to significantly cut back on the base QQs which would need to drop down to around 200 (guess) in DDB.
I'll give that a test and see what gives.

OK, ran the test and it came back with 99.9% payback with one more change. I reduced the aces and 2-4/kicker paybacks to there normal DDB values (800). That would be okay but I doubt they really want the QQs to pay back less than the real quads. Of course, I really don't have a problem with 104% payback machines.
