I was told not to come back, is that serious?

I was recently playing video poker at an advantage at a major strip property when someone in a suit asked to see my ID, They told me that what I was doing was not allowed even though I had been playing there for many years. I was also kicked out of Aria a few months ago for the same thing, not sure if that is related. The guy said he had my picture and that if I came back I would be detained.


I don't think its a good idea to play video poker there but would like to play live poker there. Should I take the ban at face value and never try to go back? can I play something there other than what I got in trouble for? If I would be allowed back is there a way to find out without risking arrest?

Any advice from knowadgable people would be appreciated.

I don't really have any advice. I am curious, however, to know what video poker game you found on the strip that offered an advantage. Were you "vulturing"?

My advice would be, NOT to go back...If they told you, "you're not allowed" then, you're not allowed...
Unless you work something out with management...via phone call or letter, but I wouldn't go back on the property.

Some guy in a suit telling you you are banned is nonsense. Either you get formally banned, and tresspassed or you aren't.

you did not mention a no trespass signing,but if they don't want you there are still other opportunities ana plenty of poker rooms in vegas no?? unless this was some kind of huge play!

Yes I was playing Ultimate X, I hadn't had any problems for years then kicked out of two places in 3 months.

I assume that certain someone was me? I wasn't scoffing. I pointed out that scavenging is not a viable long term profit opportunity. My point has been proven by this post. If you find a way to beat the casino, the casino will find a way to remove you or your advantage. Anyone who is allowed to consistently "beat the casino" does so because the casino sees a benefit in allowing you to do so. If they don't, this is what eventually happens.

What does the term scavenging mean? I am an avid video poker player but I have never heard of this.
