That sounds like a slow connection communicating with the game server. If browsing the actual web pages on the site is fast with no delays, the first thing to try might be powering off the modem and router, wait for them to come back online, then reboot your computer. This should reset your DNS settings and possibly improve that connection. If not, then we can discuss more options.
