Yonkers Raceway was closed for several years before it got its racino license. I believe it was being offered around in the forty-fifty million dollar range, but how to develop it would have been nitemarish.
One side wanted affordable housing and one wanted anything but that. Instead, they got their permit, and now made an additional 800 million off the sale. Life is good.
