Re: does the math matter?
I agree that it is disappointing. We have only made day trips there. First time to see the place. After that, only to take visitors who wanted to see it. My wife and I did buy cowboy hats there at a shop owned by transplants from, if I remember correctly, New Jersey.

The movie Tombstone is mostly about Wyatt Earp and his brothers along with Doc Holiday. The Shoot Out at the OK Coral is the climax of the movie. I'm a history buff and the movie was more authentic than most. They stretched the truth in places to make the movie better. Kurt Russel played Wyatt. Val Kilmer played Doc Holiday. Doc Holiday had tuberculosis which was incurable back then. Val Kilmer won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in that movie. There were many other great actors involved. Watch it and let us know what you think. Definitely in the top ten best.advantage playe wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 9:41 pmI think fl phil was referring to the movie tombstone.

I don't know why anyone would want to post on this forum? It's not about video poker, it's about egos. Everyone is not going to agree about everything all the time. All you need to post here is a computer and two fingers. Once you figure that out, it's not that big of a deal.

In 1993 an injustice was done. Val Kilmer was overlooked by the Academy for his role as Doc Holliday, in Tombstone. Val didn't even receive a nomination.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 4:14 amThe movie Tombstone is mostly about Wyatt Earp and his brothers along with Doc Holiday. I stand corrected. That was an incredible performance. Action movies are often overlooked at the Oscars.jetermacaw wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 7:52 amIn 1993 an injustice was done. Tombstone was much more than a shoot 'em up western. If you saw through the action, it had numerous side plots that made the movie more authentic than most. Many of you would enjoy the movie. Lots of gambling. Doc lived part of his life in Leadville Colorado. He moved there because they told him the high altitude was better for his tuberculosis. We drove there once and could hardly walk around due to the thin air. Not a great place if you can't breathe.
Doc's girlfriend and common law wife, Big Nose Kate, was a part time prostitute. Very common profession in those days. If you want to read a great book about the "Soiled Doves" of the old west, read "My Life as a Whore" by Laura Evens. It talks about Black Hawk, Central City, Denver, Cripple Creek and what it was like back then. Many of those old mining towns are now full of casinos.

I think he was telling ted, "don't hit your ass on the way out.", but messed up how it was quoted.
If my own comments ended up causing Ted to leave, I apologize. That wasn't my intent at all.
