We saw the left wing circle jerk last night. Even Alec Baldwin said no one on the stage last night can beat Trump. Expect Michelle Obama to parachute in at the last moment to save the day.

just checked today's online NYT. above the fold is another story about impeachment. one of a zillion that have been negative about trump. but, almost nothing about russia, collusion, impeachment, mueller mentioned at the debates, why? it has been the main talking point of dems and CNN for years.

is it possible the dems' polling shows the whole subject to be unpopular among moderate dems and independents, so CNN was told and the candidates agreed to stay away from the subject.

CNN and FOX and many other media outlets (not all) are profit-making businesses. Their content is based on what their readers/viewers want, so that the highest possible views/reads can be used to drive advertising revenue. It does a disservice to any presidential candidate, Democrat or Republican, to say that their debate agenda, or their agenda period, must be established by the stock market performance of CNN, FOX, or the NY Times. I would hope that a president and the candidates hoping to succeed him have the intelligence and personal integrity to form their own agendas, rather than obeying CNN, FOX, etc etc etc.

i don't recall any post mentioning 'stock' price. but, as you brought it up, many media outlets have trump to thank, for increased viewership/readers/subscribers. like him or hate him, he makes news and media outlets have benefited financially.

i think it is much more likely that the political parties pull the strings on the media, as opposed to the media controlling the political agenda.

but, you have still not addressed my observation; after years of non stop collusion/russia/mueller, how is it that the subject did not come up in 2 nights of debates? please answer that.

That it did not come up is an answer in itself. Mueller/Collusion/Russia is more of an issue for the media and for the "progressive" clique in Congress than it is for serious candidates for president. With all due respect to those who support Trump, I honestly don't think the candidates running against him will have any lack of serious issues to discuss, rather than zeroing in on an iffy, strictly political issue. Once you get past the far left and the far right, the American public, as a general rule, wants cooperation and cohesion and RESULTS in government, not all of this constant bickering and tweeting and incredibly childish back and forth. The candidate who best understands this will likely succeed next year.

What kind of person, especially a mother or father , sees these images of innocent children locked in cages, denied basic human rights such as beds and showers and supports such actions?
By law, children are not capable of committing a crime.
