As for playing these lousy games once in a while. You have to give the casino a good show to reduce potential problems elsewhere. I call it "comping the casino."

How does one get a spade RF when you have discarded the A of spades?

He didn't discard the A of spades, he just also drew one on the bottom line. The bottom hand shows the cards he held, but not the ones he threw away.
