Re: This happened today and I have a question.
I'm going to try to get one on the mobile app and see what happens. So far just 6's with a kicker and no multuplier.

Nice.
I've been dealt every possible winner I can think of, except for aces with a kicker.

By not letting me hit the Draw button didn't it screw me out of the opportunity of getting a possible multiplier on the draw? This was Double STP as you can see.

Interesting. I’ve had royals auto held but never aces with the kicker. I’ve wondered how many novice players have been lucky enough to be dealt that and not know to hold a kicker.

I have had 4 aces with a kicker held. After the initial shock I was doubly sure not to throw the kicker away. My most memorable casino moment and most profitable.

I believe the machine program already processed the multiplier immediately after dealing the hand. You hit the jackpot, so it locks to prevent you from throwing it away! Great hand

Modern machines lock up when you get dealt the highest possible payout. So on Triple Double Bonus, where aces-with-a-kicker pay 4,000 coins, yes the cards are held and the hand is played as if you had held them. If you're playing stakes where a W2G is involved, the machine locks up until the taxable is process.
On a game like Double Double Bonus, where aces-with-a-kicker pays "only" 2,000 coins, the cards are not held because technically you could hold one of the aces and draw the royal.
On certain older machines, still around in some places, even if you're dealt a royal, you physically have to hold the cards yourself.
