Currently Amazon stock is at $1,785 a share. Down from a high of well over $2,100. People will be staying home for some time. What do you think they will be doing?

Bought AMZN @ 1674.29 today, this virus is a HOAX will be over soon. As of Oct.1 2019, 47,000 died of the normal every day flu according to the CDC, that's more then 300 a day.

No matter what you say this CORONAVIRUS is over blown but a major amount. A guy on CNBC said today to refinance your house ASAP and put it in the market, I agree 100%. Your not going to get a chance to buy cheap again. I don't think we at the bottom, but cost avg. in works.

Maybe media's overreacting a bit, but why the HELL would we want to make this up and crush our economy unnecessarily?

I pray that no member gets hospitalized or dies from this, but given the average age of our members, I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

- HOAX? the death toll from italy, a developed country, with reliable stats indicates this is for real.
-market bottom, no one really knows, but i/m/o, it will turn when folks believe the virus is under control and they can go back to living their normal lives. we are a 70-75% consumer driven economy.
-with that said, i did make a smallll exchange from some bond funds to stock funds today, before the close. market down about 30% from high just seems like an appropriate time to dip my toe in. if it keeps dropping, i will continue moving from bond to stock funds.
- after decades of having nearly 100% of our money in stock funds, we now have only 15% of our savings in stock funds. greatly reduced our stock holdings after reaching our savings goal and getting older. missed out on a lot of gains, but now the decision seems a little wiser. i sleep good at night.

No one can accurately predict the bottom or the top of the stock market. That's like predicting when you will hit a royal. There is never a bad time to buy the stock of great American Companies. If you need all the money you have today, you shouldn't be in the market. If you are investing for a lifetime, buy the stock of best in class companies that have a future. No one ever made a profit by panicking.

Yes when we lose 300 people yesterday to the normal flu and no one cares yet the world is ending over less then 100 deaths. I work at a grocery store for 20 years, you can't believe the panic unless your in the store all day like I am. Right now we can't get anything in, no meat, no can goods no frozen. TP forget it.

This is a government induced panic, we had record gun sales here, this is going to end ugly if the government don't back off.

Imo it is the death rate on this one that is the problem. Ten to 20 times higher than the regular flu. Media always over reacts to everything. Even the weathermen get upset when they only have perfect weather to talk about. You can’t really compare numbers because this hasn’t been around long enough. Percentages tell the story. Those could change for better or worse too.

I am not sure why one can't understand simple math.

The population of the USA in 2020 is estimated to be 329.6712 Million

If you use 47,000 deaths since Oct.1 to the normal flu in the USA you would see almost 2 million in China alone. What part of this HOAX can't you all understand????????????????????????

I am absolutely baffled that anyone would use the word "hoax" if they are even slightly aware of what is happening in Italy. In parts of Italy doctors are literally having to decide who will live and who will die because there are not enough ventilators for all of the patients who need them.
