Re: panic??
with such a large drop in retail sales announced today, EVERY state will need to reopen soon. no sales, no sales tax. neither people nor governments can go without income for long.
if states don't start to reopen soon, citizens will revolt. this is a government forced bankruptcy for some folks. those who work for the gov't aren't losing anything. and, yet it is the gov't and those who work for it, that are making all the decisions. the private sector and small business employ the majority of folks, pay the most taxes and some are watching their livelihood's disappear.
i have been urging this for some time, they know the most vulnerable people, tell them to hibernate, and slowly let the others get back to their lives.

not qualified to answer, but makes sense to me.tech58 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 8:28 amQuestions about keeping the home front virus free.
Lets say my home, and all in it, has been isolated for two weeks. No symptoms of virus showing up.
Can it be safely assumed that no virus is alive in that environment?
If any provisions, delivered by family members, are left outside for 3 days (the max. time i have heard that the virus can survive on objects) can they be safely brought in without requiring disinfecting?
Realistic plan or wishful thinking?

22 million people have now filed a claim for unemployment, in last 4 weeks. staggering!
covid 19 infections many decrease, but i am guessing we will see a rise in suicides, drug use, alcoholism, spouse/child abuse, loneliness, bankruptcies, divorce and poverty. millions of lives ruined.
as trump said, is the cure worse than the disease.
thank you china!

Yep FAA, it's all his fault. If he were impeached, you'd be blaming Pence? Today I offered an Illinois State Trooper an N95 mask, he turned it down. He was probably a Democrat and when he gets sick - he can blame President Trump too.

Time to tell China " you know that trillion dollar debt we owe you, we're not paying".

Car, as growing sentiment around the world seems to indicate, the day may be coming to hold China accountable for the economic disaster they have inflicted on the world. Very justifiable of course.
However i believe past history and the realities of world economics portends a problem with that idea.
The devious, insidious, and self serving desire by the CCP to dominate world economics has led to an infiltration of business and political entities around the world.
Look at some countries hardest hit by the virus,Spain,Italy, and the U.S. and ask why there?
You will find that it is there that the CCP has their tentacles the deepest into, not only their business community, but their POLITICAL structure as well!
The millions of Chinese envoys and business minions flew unrestricted to countries around the world.
Thousands of them from Wuhan, for weeks after human transmission of the virus was well known.
Dealing with China is a huge money-maker for not only businesses around the,but also POLITICIANS!
They look the other way when criticism of China's lying, corruption, and human rights abuses, are discussed.
Why? It would be bad business for THEM!
Will this time be any different?
Will the blaming it all on TRUMP ploy work?
We shall see.

I know it's a simplistic answer, but something along these lines needs to be done.

Not at all a "simplistic answer" Car.
It is at the CORE of the ONLY answer!
Hitting them economically is the only thing they will understand, and is the right thing to do.
IMHO the problem IS very simplistic, and it is not about right or wrong.
The problem is the fact that the people "pulling the strings", economically and politically, have much to lose.
Odds on them doing the right thing?
Not real good.
