Olds, sorry for your loses. Unfortunately, there will be many more deaths in the world from this virus until there is a cure.

sorry about you losing some friends.

this is exactly what i have been pushing, since the stats started coming out, concentrate the efforts toward the older crowd. and, those in nursing homes are really vulnerable. we have come to find out that those who are older, obese, diabetic are even more at risk.

did anyone note that cuomo FORCED nursing homes in NYS to admit new patients, and the nursing homes were not allowed to inquire about covid. of course, many seniors have now died, as the new folks already had the disease.

i am interested in your experience with UV light. in theory, could someone with proper training, use a UV wand and just move them over unused/abandoned slot/vp machines, and kill most germs, including covid 19. having a small team roaming the casino, constantly using these uv wands, seems like a good idea.

Saw a cute meme today which I can't upload so I will just quote it: "The Casinos are now offering curbside pickup. Call ahead and they come out and take your money right from your car."

That’s a good one. As to the UV, back in the 1960’s we gad a box to put things in , plugged it in and instruments etc. stayed in there an hour. The main problem as I see it is the time needed to sanitize and also the varying frequencies. UVC light ranges from roughly 200 to 400 nm. A few studies have been done showing the UVC light even as low as 222 nm can kill a virus without a danger to humans but a lot more work is needed in this area I hope they are working on it as we speak. Another problem with UV light is exposure is cumulative over one’s lifetime. That’s why people who sunbathe, play golf, fish, etc. when they are young paying no attention to covering up your skin or using suntan lotion develop skin cancer down the road. I myself have had five bouts with it already. Anyway I believe UVC light in the correct nanometer range will eventually be found to be effective With very little harm to humans. How long to perfect it and make it safe is anyone’s guess I’ve got my fingers crossed

sounds good in theory, but low paid workers constantly waving wands are bound to get sloppy, lazy or forgetful about where their place is, etc. And what of bathrooms, unless someone is there to scan every toilet stall & sink after each and every use, it's pretty much pointless to employ.

Also, don't (or can't) UV waves mutate DNA? If a virus isn't killed, the chances of creating a mutated strain(s) are something I'd rather not risk.

maybe uv lite is not the answer. what i do know is that when your business relies heavily on folks who are age 60 and older, some of which undoubtedly have existing medical conditions and the chinese virus's favorite target is that same group, the casinos sure better come up with some good ideas to make players feel safe. add into the mix that unemployment for young people has spiked, people's wealth has decreased and discretionary income for some has disappeared, those older vulnerable folks are more important than ever. many of them still have money to spend.

If only there were a place in our country where people could go and not talk politics. This is for video poker. Go on the internet. You’ll find plenty of other places to hate on each other.

Nice post gentlemobster. Could not agree more. The only reason I gave my opinion earlier in this thread was that I was getting tired of all of the propaganda. Going forward lets all agree to quit talking politics unless it is in a section unrelated to video poker. The anything and everything area would be the ideal place to keep all the politics.

Easy to spot the political losers. If i had their candidate to try to promote. i would want the subject
swept under the rug also.
The chinese virus HAS become a political issue! Why? Because the dem's have tried to make it one !
They started the politics on this as a last gasp,hail-mary attempt to gain political ground!
They did not care that lives were lost because of their delay tactics in the House.
Voters in America will not forget this!!!
TRUMP 2020!!!!
