Re: increase in crime

portland is experiencing yet another night of violence, mayhem and lawlessness. it has been going on for almost 2 months. the county in which portland is located, in 2016, voted 70% for hillary. it is a liberal haven.

yet, community leaders, all dems, now blame the crime wave on the RECENT show of law enforcement from federal authorities. after federal buildings and property were damaged, trump sent in fed help to safeguard taxpayer paid property.

this is a designed dem election policy. create as much havoc as possible, and hopefully the voters will blame trump and vote biden. this policy of allowing mayhem is happening across america, in many major cities. protesting, rioting, looting...it is all fine with dems.

it will be interesting to see if this policy of allowing chaos and bad mouthing the police will be effective in getting votes. while the are undoubtedly millions who despise trump, how many voters are at home watching this terrorism allowed to happen. will some voters want more of this or will they again, hold their nose, and vote for a law and order president. how many of those young voters, the 'perps' causing the damage, will actually vote? how many seniors, property owners, business owners and suburban moms will decide against dems for allowing this to happen? personal, family and business safety may well override all else.

Oh, the perils of Pauline. The world is such a big and scary place. I heard the Dems are bringing in spiders
to terrorize the peaceloving peoples of Portland. We can't have that. Off with their heads.

. . . .
Best statement ever, from Chad Wolf (acting head of DHS): we don't need an invitation from Portland (or from any mayors, governors) to do our job. "We're going to do that whether they like us there or not."

Absolutely spot on.

Heh, I am biased, my daughter works for the DHS OIG.

I have multiple "Blue Lives Matter" shirts, including ones that support local Metro officer, Shay Mikalonis, who is paralyzed from the neck down after being shot in the head in front of Circus Circus over 6 weeks ago . . . oh yeah, during one of those imaginary "peaceful protests."

doug, you should be proud of your daughter, i am sure you are!

do you find some of BR's statements interesting? first, when he was leaving the vegas area, he touted the price of property, that was less than what we paid to re-tile our roof. now, he is touting that there are many $50k houses available, in his new location. fifty thousand for a house doesn't sound like the by product of a successful career for someone in their 50-60's. and, turning his broken down bakery into a community center? maybe, his dumpster diving business and selling his finds online is not going so well.

you may be right. he, like so many who thought thought they could out math the vegas casinos, was not quite what they expected.

there are record sales of guns and amo in america. is it your argument that all these are being bought by right wing nuts or that everyone who is making these purchases are just stupid? that argument will go over well with those who are feeling endangered.

your team can hide biden in the basement, you can limit him answering any questions. maybe, you can even hide his obvious lack of mental faculties. but, your team cannot hide the mayhem, rioting, looting
that is taking place every night on voters television screens. those voters are scared that terrorism will make to their town.

folks of all stripes are purchasing weapons to protect themselves. they want safety for themselves, family and business. and, who do you think they are going to blame for the lawlessness?

It's funny. When I tell my friends there are houses here for under $50,000, their next question is generally what could I rent it out for? Some people recognize opportunity when they see it, while others are simply blinded by hate. I suppose some might not have the mental facilities needed, but who is to say.
What is sad is when I lived in Henderson and that city was voted one of the best places to live in America, you tried to put it down. Now I live in the town voted the best small town in the southwest and you need to put it down. Notice a pattern there?
While I might end up living in one of my investment properties, it won't be anytime soon.
It's a shame you need to denigrate and lie about my business but people on the bottom often try to pull others down to their level rather than lifting themselves up to others.
Just how sad and broken does one have to be to be so bitter?
Did you really pay $160,000 to retile a roof? I can't decide if that is sad or hilarious. Maybe it is both.

When Obama took office there were record sales because they were afraid he would limit their rights . Now that it looks like Biden will win, they are afraid again. What is it they say about people who keep doing the same thing but expect the outcome to be different?

By the way, before you concoct any more lies about me, I'm not anti-gun. I don't own any because I don't need any.
My idea of gun control means hitting your target. I'm against assault weapons and thirty round clips.
If you can't hit your target in the first ten shots, I really don't want you to have another twenty misses left.

There is a website called "New Geography" run by a fellow named Joel Kotkin. Google it and enter the words "White City". It will explain a lot of what is happening in Portland and Seattle. Not a lot of African-Americans in those places, but lots of angry white kids.

I was supposed to go back to NY in April to testify in a civil suit that is going to be ten years old this year, but it got postponed again. Played with the idea of going home for the rest of the summer but don't want to quarentine for two weeks, and driving cross country with my dog isn't appealing.
This is my first monsoon season and the sunsets and lightning storms are incredible. We got to see the comet the other night, but it was fairly obscured.
I thought Astoria was basically a Greek enclave. The revelers didn't look Greek to me.
