Re: vote for BIDEN and his party
Notes, good to hear you are set financially as well. Most of our friends drive newer vehicles than we do, live in bigger homes than we do, and when we go out to eat they normally buy the most expensive thing on the menu. Meanwhile I am still driving the same truck I paid cash for 15 years ago, live in the same home we paid cash for 22 years ago, and when we go out to eat we normally split something or if we each want something different eat half and bring the rest home for tomorrow nights meal. Told you I was conservative. I just don't like Trump.
IMO we blew any chance we will ever have for another lockdown. It would have worked if it had been managed properly and not tinkered with by Trump. That is why I refer to it as the Trump virus . If he had of kept his big fat mouth shut and allowed the health experts to lead the way, started the lockdown a little earlier and kept the country shut down a few extra weeks longer, we would be done with it. We would be at the point that the cases would be few enough where the testing and the contact tracing would be able to keep it in check.
Just by refusing to wear a mask for the first five plus months of the pandemic he set a bad example and encouraged others not to wear a mask. No telling how many lives, jobs, and businesses would have been saved if Trump would have allowed the pandemic to be managed properly. Instead he was more interested in getting his big fat ass on TV to answer questions and berate reporters that were trying to do their job. The Trump virus and its containment is a subject he knows just enough about to be dangerous and the rest is history.

SMR, i understand your concerns. i would have also liked to see trump endorse wearing a mask, it would not have become such as divisive issue. b/t/w, the medical/scientific community has been wrong so many times, they are less than convincing. they have allowed politics to enter their respective fields.
but, here again, you keep going back to shutting down the economy. in other words, you and i got what we need (and more), so you are ok with letting millions of small business owners suffer the devastation of losing their income and their business. and, the governors of each state dictated what was to be allowed and not allowed, not trump. it may not be your intention, but one could interpret your many comments about shutting down the economy as being; you had your business, made a living from it, sold it and now have the proceeds to support your retirement.. you don't care about everyone else trying to do the same.
berate reporters for doing their jobs? have you actually witnessed those briefings. many of those 'unbiased' reporters were simply playing game of gotcha. been reported many times that the reported news about trump is 90-95% negative. they have an agenda, how can you not see this. did any of them treat obama in a similar manner? of the few interviews with biden, no one has asked a tough question, is that fair.
you don't like the guy, fine, there are many who agree. but, the alternative is scary...joe biden. he can't even form a cohesive sentence, without a teleprompter. have you seen what is going on in dem run cities. WAPO reported 17 of the 20 most dangerous cities are run by dems. you want that?

Call it what it is . . . the CHINESE VIRUS.
Blaming Trump is what liberal planks do best . . . Gee, let's look at Sweden and their coronavirus strategy. Must be Trump's fault, too.
Hilarious. Kinda like the hand wringing for that Lewis guy . . . who did nothing for his constituents, just another Maxine Waters. Term limits!

Notes, what we are dealing with here is the biggest crisis of our lifetime. I feel for the people that have lost family members, jobs and businesses. In relation to the people that have lost jobs and businesses, maybe once we get through all this people that have been hurt financially will reprioritize how they spend their money. I used to tell my salespeople who worked for me the decisions you make today will directly affect where you are in life five years from now. That advice is still true today on different levels but at the time I was giving them advice on how to spend their money and eventually have enough money saved to deal with unexpected events when they arise.
In regards to Trump and the media that are trying to do their jobs, I agree, they do have an agenda. There agenda is to ask the president, the vice president, or one of the health experts during these briefings tough questions in order to inform the American people what is going on. You don't see Fauci or Birx or even Pence losing there cool and going off on reporters. I have watched almost all of the briefings. Its obvious Trump is way out of league and should not be there.
First it was Alex Azar's task force. Then it was Mike Pence's task force. Why the hell is trump there? All he does for the most part is bullshit his way through by lying, denying, and deflecting. The public would be much better served if he was not there and a meaningful exchange could be had between the medical experts and the reporters so that we would all have a better understanding about what is going on with efforts to get through this pandemic. Instead we have lies and platitudes by Trump with a few temper tantrums thrown in. They usually end with a softball question from the young female reporter from OAN unless Trump experiences a worse than normal meltdown and leaves earlier on a particular day.
That is not leadership. If you want an authoritarian form of government Trumps your guy. I don't think the majority of the American people want a a dictator to run our country. But tyrants are exactly the types of people that Trump councils with, looks up to, and admires. Don't be surprised if Trump gets beat soundly. We will find out in less than 100 days. He certainly deserves to get beat as he has been a terrible role model for this nations youth and is sure to go down in the history books as the most divisive and inept president ever.

I don't want anyone to die, but I'm looking at Floridas numbers and they are scary as hell. 12,000 infections some days and hospitals are already at capacity. Meanwhile, they open DisneyWorld and want to reopen all the bars. I'm surprised they aren't pushing for a return to cruising.Carcounter wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 11:42 amSeems like you are hoping for more Floridians to die. I hope that's not the case. They will never catch up to NY and NJ as far as the death rate is concerned. BTW, there was a Liberian independence day celebration at a rented mansion in Jackson NJ over the weekend. 700 people no masks.
I don't get this obsession with NY or NJ. They got hit early and no one knew anything about what worked or didn't. It's four months later and no one wants to even try to learn from their experiences.
The NE shut down and has kept cases low. Arizona had 200 deaths before the shutdown, about forty in the four week shutdown and almost 3,000 in the weeks after they reopened. Now they have shut down all the bars, gyms, pookls and movies but there is widespread cheating. A bar near Bisbee advertised they would be open this weekend. Sheriff said it wasn't his job to close it, it was the states. Sunday, Liquor agents showed up, gave two tickets but supposedly felt there would be a riot if the bar was shut down.
But lets focus on what happened in NY in March.

I find it interesting how many of us vp players are so conservative in other ways. Wife and I married 48 years. Same small house we bought in 1974 when I was 26 and worked like a dog to pay off the 30 year mortgage in 1980. We have a beautiful view and short walk to the beach so it is fine for us. Never had a car payment or credit card debt either of us. Bought older used or very conservative new and always paid cash so no debt when interest rates were sky high. My new Ford pickup in 1973 stickered 3450, bought for 2750. Same restaurant habits watching for early birds and took home many great doggie bags. Always invested very conservatively except for a year or two I tried day trading after I retired in 2003. It was just too much work for the returns I got and tons of paperwork. Have been blessed with good health so far which is our biggest gift in life by a mile. PS.....The youngsters will gind this hard to believe but my starting pay with the job I kept 34 years was 6,500 bucks. That was annual. The Mrs early on after we married taught Catholic school at a whopping annual salary of 5,600 with almost no benefits. Neither of us ever asked our parents for a dime but our rent the first 3 years was 165/ mo including heat and hot water, enabling us to save our down payment on the house.
