Well that took a weird turn! Since webman never answered, maybe he will now? FWIW, I did find a way to block avatar's on my own so you can close this thread.

Sorry for not responding sooner. We do not have a policy against political avatars. These avatars are used to represent a member across the site, not only in contests.

The only policies (currently) about political discussion are here in the forum (restrain to Anything and Everything area), in the chat (allowed in Open Topics but not VP Chat), and in the Members Rule Peanut Gallery posts (no political comments).
