Why don't you try and explain that statement, and actually demonstrate with actual evidence and logic how this is the case.....I'm sincerely asking, what precisely from the Great Society Programs (a bi-partisan effort originally by LBJ and congress) is causing the problems of today? Which part of the program and which problem of today? WHen you say "War on Poverty", what exactly are you talking about, and how has that failed and which problem of today is directly the result of the failed war on poverty?tech58 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 10:17 amGood post E.
I have one disagreement though, this problem and other social ills like drugs, inner city crime, poverty culture, abortion, family disintegration, and others are precisely because of dem. policies of the 60's & 70's.
The Great Society Programs and The War On Poverty failed miserably and created the conditions that exist today, and will for generations to come.
And lastly, do you think anything at all SHOULD be done about poverty and if so what? (and I don't mean simply, repeatedly telling people who were born with nothing, have nothing that they are responsible for themselves and their plight, and they are just gonna have to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.) Try and work into your thoughtful response how the ever increasing, ever-widening Wealth Gap and income disparity is impacting all of this, because anyone with basic understanding of economics knows that the trend in the USA since 1980 is unsustainable.
