Horse Racing Game
Last year when my wife and I were in Vegas, we stopped by the New Frontier and I saw an unusual game (at least it was to me!). It was a horse racing game where you drop a coin or five in the slot and bet on your hores to win in an "actual" race in front of you. Not a slot machine, but a "real" race. I am just wondering if anybody has seen one of these games anyplace else? We will be heading to Vegas at the end of March, and I would love to pop a dollar or two into a "classic" game like this. Thanks!!!

I used to play a similar game many years ago (15+) at the MGM Grand. It was a fun time and you could play forever on a few quarters. My wife and I would compete which added to the fun. The game you're referring to may be an update to the old game. I haven't seen one in quite awhile. If I do see one I'll post its' location.
I think the game I used to play was called Sigma Derby (or something close to that).

Well the game I saw very well may be the same game. Trust me, this game looked old. Like ancient. But also looked like a lot of fun!

I used to play this game at Circus Circus, Reno. Yes alot of fun...slow play...can make your bankroll last along time and you get to root and have fun talking to other players. Haven't seen it in years.

THE GAME I SAW DIDN'T QUITE HAVE LIVE HORSES. THERE WERE LITTLE MODEL,SO TO SPEAK, HORSES THAT RAN(?) AROUND A TRACK MAKING VERY DISTRACTING NOISES ( THERE OFF, CLIPPITY CLOP, CLIPPITY CLOP) TO A VP PLAYER. THERE WAS A LOT OF SHOUTING AND URGING OF THE PONIES, SIMILAR TO THE NOISE AROUND A HOT CRAPS TABLE.
Apologize for the large type, but I was almost done when I noticed the cap locks were on. Too lazy to retype.

No live horses. The way the game worked is there were 6 (?) little horse figures that were rocked back and forth on little posts while they were moved around the track. If I remember right, you bet on TWO horse combos. They had to finish 1-2 for you to win the race.

Classic arcade horse racing, multiple player per each race was played last Sept. 2007 at the MGM just before an exit to the strip. Was that the same place the Shadowman saw the game 15 years ago?

Different place. When I played it was centrally located away from any exit. Of course, I haven't been inside the MGM in mucho years.

Probably near the exit in case the lions scare the horses?
