Members Rule - Double Down Stud Question

I'm almost afraid to post this because there's probably a simple answer that I'm just missing. But here goes.

When playing Double Down Stud Poker on this site, doesn't it make sense to Double Down EVERY hand? If you're playing in a casino and have to put up money from your credits for every bet, you need to be careful about doubling for fear of losing twice as much on a lousy hand. Here, we're playing a specific number of hands, not putting up the initial bankroll.

In other words, to make this game work on this site, credits would have to be deducted when a bet is doubled. But they're not as far as I can see. There is no penalty for doubling down. I doubled down 25 consecutive hands, and there was never additional credits deducted to account for the double down loss.

Hope I'm making sense. What am I missing?

I certainly wasn’t going to say anything about that. But in a contest where bet credits aren’t deducted, doubling down is probably a pretty good idea.

Why can't you draw cards after the deal?

It's a "stud" game, so the only "draw" is the 5th card. You get paid for the deal alone. In the multi-line game, your 5th card will be different on each line.

I'm impressed. If the goal is to get lots of contest entries in the least time, this is a GREAT game--just alternate between the Deal and Yes buttons as fast as the game will let you, and you'll almost always get an entry. Took me seven minutes. And almost as much fun as...well, no, since there's no judgment involved at all.
