Back from vegas

Post by mschaching »

Got back last night.. Stayed at MSS-very nice.. Hit my first Royal (playing 25 Bonus Poker).  Still learning how to play so I stuck with JOB, BP,and NSUDW.  Really felt much better plugging money in when you feet comfortable playing the games..MSS was having a special promo called "Score Four" which meant with any natural 4oak you got a scratch off- I won 17, most are only worth $2, $3 But you may win 5,000.
Here are a few questions:
What game would anyone suggest on the hierarcy of learning? Maybe Double Bonus?

When you get paid for your Royal, what is the reccomended tip?

Why are some VP players keeping track of Big wins on tally sheets?Maybe I'm not at that level yet

What do they do with these stats?  Saw this playing JOB and DW?
I was disappointed in the number of good machines at the other casinos Downtown? Anyone agree?
 .
Don't think I would have done this well without using the software program and cards...

Double Bonus is good game, FPDW is even better. Try some different ones out on this site or using a software tutor and figure out what you like best.

The average tip is around 1%, but slightly lower for really big jackpots. This is from a VPFree poll.

Stats are a personal thing for math geeks like me.

I don't play downtown, but there are a few decent machines. It's getting harder and harder to find good machines anywhere.

If you're not playing downtown, then where do you suggest?

Mostly off strip, but I live in Henderson during the winter which makes it easy. I gamble at Sam's, FiestaH, Tuscany, Palms, South Point and Circus Circus. I used to gamble at a couple of Stations casinos but they have been going downhill. Other decent off-strip casinos ... Coasts, Cannery, Rampart and Silverton.

Sunset Station still has a decent selection of VP I see. Thats good that they don't mess with the system! Still haven't made it to Arizona Charlies but understand they also have a decent selection of VP also. MANY casino choices but it aall comes down to preference and how far you're willing to travel to get to your VP favorites! Good luck.

Check out the Tez (El Cortez) the next time you are Downtown in Vegas.  I've heard (but haven't seen them myself) that the Tez has installed Dancer endorsed "full pay" machines and has started conducting "classes" down there.  All of the Dancer machines I've seen have been multi-game GameKings and each game on them is what is traditionally called "full pay".

The problem with the Station casinos isn't the VP pre se, it's what they have done to the points and comps. At $4 for each point now, it takes forever to earn enough to get anything and now they are significantly limiting comps to players that only play positive VP machines. They are no longer worth it for me.

we walked down to the El Cortez... Realy wasn't impressed. Maybe I didn't look hard enough but I didn't see any Full Pay VP. I was hoping they would sell Bob Dancers Stats cards there.. We missed one of the classes by a day.. Oh Well

Shadow, you ever cruise out to the El Cortez or is it not worth the hassle for you?

Oh WellAppreciate the report mschaching (I like the handle by the way!)  I don't know that the Dancer machines were to be installed at the Tez.  I just assumed (and you know what that means!) that with him conducting classes there that they would enhance their floor with some of the machines that he endorsed.  I know he had "his" machines on the floor at Silverton for a time and seems like I recall that they were installed in a few other casinos as well.
