Staying with the Deuces
I had been playing JOB for about 90% of my play for the last few years. This change to deuces this year has been very rewarding and much more fun. Hit my third royal in Feb, 4th on the year.

Super Wildman!! I did the same some years ago. Those quadless and Royalless days on 9/6 Job were killing me the way I play. If our sessions run 5,000 hands which for you and I they do or more, long term it is likely we will hit deuces at least once a session. Notice I said long term because once in awhile we can go 4 or 5 sessions without them, then hit them 4 times in one day like I did the other day.

If I had a RF this month, forum karma is definitely working! I had six quads in about four hours today, three BP and three JOB. No huge win, but the usual kind of day that has me keeping my strategy.

imo DW game is/was always a superior game to JOB even both had a bad pay schedule id still pick Dw gmae over a JoB game since 4 ducks are always an option but there is no 4 ducks in jacks just two pair and 3 of a kind a i guess cant have fun with that imo , i was watching this youtube video showing 2 different players playing roulette while 1 played red/black other played straight up numbers and their findings show playing straight up had a higher % of doubling their bank oppose to just lasting longer.
i think thats my conclusion with low/hi variance vp games.
congrats on your win, this year has not been kind to me so far

In return for that occasional four deuces, you are giving up breaking even on the most common hand- a high pair.
DW can have a superior payback to JOB, but in reality, it is rarely offered and a poor DW pay schedule, which is quite common, will eat your BR most days. Four deuces happens roughly every 5,000 hands. That is an awful lot of non-paying high pairs to muddle through.

Thank you for the quick reminder. I might have been tempted to try my hand. But as a low variance stickler, I’d be in almost immediate agony.
