Yep! And in a few weeks, maybe a month at most when that money is blown, the outstretched palm will be looking for more. We are experiencing the dumbing down of our society at every level.

There except by the grace of god go I. Be grateful for what you have and show some compassion for the less fortunate people. I did not hear you trumpers throwing a walleye fit when his administration spent money like drunken sailors. Much of it was tax cuts for the rich. Talk about hand outs. About time poor and working class people get a few crumbs instead of all of the welfare going to the wealthy in the form of tax cuts. People are hurting. Thank god it is not you and I and we should be grateful.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 6:35 pmYep! I am all for helping the less fortunate, but perpetuating a way of life with no incentive to do better and help themselves is not the way to go.

Agree 100% Olds. Why shouldn't the people that pay the bills have a say in how the money is spent? Makes sense, doesn't it?olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 6:48 amI am all for helping the less fortunate, but perpetuating a way of life with no incentive to do better and help themselves is not the way to go.

This statement kind of jumped off the page at me. How is paying less tax, but, nevertheless, still paying tax, a handout?seemoreroyals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 5:17 amMuch of it was tax cuts for the rich. Talk about hand outs.

So a poor person who gets $5 is getting a handout, but a rich person who gets a $1,000 cut isn't?onemoretry wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:25 amThis statement kind of jumped off the page at me. Keep thinking like that, and then wonder how your party has managed to lose the Presidency and both houses of congress in four short years.

I guess we have different definitions of the word "handout". If a person had been paying tax of $!0000 and had that PAYMENT reduced to $9000, that PAYMENT, (although reduced slightly) of $9000 hardly constitutes a "handout", at least according to my (and, I suggest, most people's) definition of the word "handout".

The person paying that higher tax is probably working harder, smarter and longer to achieve the income that pays that tax. On the other hand, the person not paying tax, but receiving hand outs will continue to do so as long as his palm is filled.
