Re: Return to borgata
This localized patchwork quilt policy has befuddled those not truly local to the issue. Apparently NJ is way ahead of the game, smokers notwithstanding.

The Catholic church, I go to Mass on Sunday, still requires a mask to enter the Church !!Tedlark wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 7:33 amNanny policy? Really?
The newest Hard Rock Casino recently opened in Northwest Indiana and when I visited masks were still required. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that Covid-19 vaccination rates in Gary, Indiana (where this casino is located) are at 28% for those who are vaccination eligible and most other vaccination rates in Northwest Indiana counties are around the 40% mark. Those who have been resistant to getting vaccinated should read up on the Covid-19 Delta variant and think about others than just themselves.
Some businesses still have mask requirements in place to protect their workers more than the general public.
Nanny Policy? Think again.

On Wednesday I stayed at Harrah's. I decided to go to the boardwalk. Didn't know if the TR shuttle still operates, so i just jumped on the jitney (last seat), and got off at Hard Rock. After visiting Bally's, Resorts, Hard Rock and Ocean, I waited outside for the return jitney. As I boarded, driver said mask was required. I informed him it wasn't required on my way over. I also asked if he had one available. He said REQUIRED! and couldn't supply.
Back into Ocean. No masks at Lobby or Concierge. Back to Casino floor to Security for mask. Wait another 10 minutes for jitney. Board empty shuttle with mask in hand. Driver didn't say anything about not having it on- only interested in $2.25.

What a farce. It's become such an arbitrary patchwork. I aborted my Tangers stroll. No mask and no easy way to get one. My casino return was profitable, which is a silver lining. You could have hailed a pricey cab too. Those guys are so desperate to snag $13 fares that they'd welcome a clown quartet. I will treat myself to one just as soon as I hit a max RF. He deserves $20 more than the attendant.

I always take a taxi, I freaking hate those Jitneys. Another successful trip at Borgata last week, Amphora Lounge back downstairs food has been great.

Depends on the occupancy. If it's empty, that's when they more often bang and shake your teeth. The suspension is built for a full load, so when full it actually rides relatively smooth- until driver flies over a speed bump. Then you will get some bouncing.advantage playe wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:49 amDo the jittneys still bounce up and down like a trampoline ?? Its been a while since I bounced around in one !

Jitneys are each independently owned and operated so I imagine they can set their own rules.TripleTriple wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 10:22 amOn Wednesday I stayed at Harrah's. I have come to hate the jitneys, their clientele and looping endless routes with a passion. Still cannot justify the cab tab.

Two more jitney rides today. En route to Borgata, of course we picked up a wheelchair patron, slowing things down further. At least the driver asked if anyone wanted GN. Nobody replied, so we breezed right past that sucker. On the way back, it was full and people at multiple stops yelled at us that they had waited one hour! Including of course, a wheelchair.
