To answer that question simply look at the different payouts for 4 of a kind.

Pay tables tell the tale. Note percentage pay out.

the answer is both pay schedules and variance.
Either game may pay more than the other. JoB can be 99.5%, 98.4%, 97.3% --- etc, depending on full house and flush. DB has the same range.
Variance means in JoB you get 2x money for two pair while in DB you get 1x money for the same hand. This is countered by MUCH bigger payouts for quads in DB than in JoB.
Variance, for some people, is another word for excitement. Some people are bored when they get 125 for four aces in JoB. Other people get nervous by the bigger losing streaks associated with DB.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

Yep kind of like shoes. One size never fits all. Not even sandals. For me, the variance is a killer sometimes. For others, no big deal. I still look at pay tables first, then decide on the game after. ( most times ) should be all of the time IMO.

Is that really true for you?olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 4:57 pmI still look at pay tables first, then decide on the game after. ( most times ) should be all of the time IMO.
You have a choice between 9/6 Job and 15/9/4/4 DW --- where the Jacks or Better returns about 0.6% more. My understanding of your way of playing is that you go for the Deuces Wild in this case, because Jacks or Better doesn't fit well with your cloning technique.
Am I misunderstanding you?
