What's the Difference Here? JOB 9/6

I'm struggling with when to hold one high card vs two cards to a Royal. For example, why is it correct to hold QS and TS in first example below, but only the AH in the second example? Thanks!

I looked at the strategy chart, and I think I figured it out. It appears that AT Suited and KT Suited fall below one high card. I assume it's because of the big gap between the cards and their ability to make a straight. Am I correct here? Thanks again.

Yes, I believe so. Also in the second example, the 4♥ creates a flush penalty.

That's correct for AT suited, but not entirely so for KT suited. KT suited is preferable to K alone, unless there is both a flush penalty and a nine penalty.
