OEJ is right... I was dealt a royal on a five line quarter DDB machine. The payout person told me it was the only time she'd ever seen it.Feeling a bit richer, I moved into their dollar area and played triple line $1 DB. That is the when I was able to run the machine up to 2500+.  When I tried to cash the ticket in, the cashier told me I needed to wait. Soon, a security person approached me, requested that I show her the machine, asked me what denomination of bills I had played and what large hands I was dealt in order to win that much. After about 30 minutes, they finally came back and escorted me to the cashier and paid me.Believe me, I've never had another good winning night at Morongo since then.My night of good luck.

At Bally's in Vegas before TITO and VP, a $1 machine gave out $250 per play several times in a short time. This was unusual for us . Each time we took the coins to the same nearby cashier. Service man showed up and said he had to work on my machine, so we left. I assumed the cashier had alerted service. I read more recently that I could have said I was not through playing that machine and could have continued playing indefinitely. One would think security could have escorted me out, had I refused to move. 'Appreciate any input re this such as similar experience or our rights to keep playing a particular machine.

It kind of stinks when a casino shuts down a machine that's paying well, doesn't it?  I don't think that a player has any rights in a situation like that, as long as the casino gives you your winnings before shutting it down.  The regulations here in CO don't say anything about that, and I don't believe the NV regs do either.  Just casino policy.  I've had some really nice days on a machine where I wouldn't have been surprised if the casino shut it down (and didn't).  I've also had some moderately nice days where they have come and shut my machine down.  No rhyme or reason for it that I can see.

cddenver: Thanks for input. RFOM: I can relate.                                      I'm entered in $35000 Invitational VP tournament May 1 at MGM Detroit and could use positive vibes that day from everyone. I have participated in a few in NV and MI and nothing great happened. Any advice besides go for the royal and play faster? Thank you!

From everything I've read about Casino Policies, and I admit that mostly it has been concerning Blackjack but I presume that it applies to all areas on the gaming floor, the Casino can do pretty much as they please when it comes to ALLOWING customers to play. The concept is that the Casino is privately owned property and as such, the Casino has the right to refuse service to anyone for just about any reason and they don't even have to give a legitimate reason!I know that in NJ, a player cannot be refused play because of "card counting".  Probably true in Las Vegas too.  But if they really don't want to deal to you, there are other reasons...such as bad breath, dislike of the color of your hair, or the most common reason given in Las Vegas..."You are too good for us.  We just don't want to play with you!"  In other words, they simply don't have to have a reason to kick you out.Or to shut down a machine you are playing.  You as a customer in that regard have very few legitimate grounds to protest.  It's "fixed" in their favor.  Gambling at their establishment is a privilege and not a right.

I've had a few days where I WISH they would have come by and shut mine down  I'm with you rfonlymama.  Most of you probably don't have the advantage that I have when it comes to shutting the machine down. That would be my husband (also known as "The Cooler").  All he has to do is walk over to ANY machine I am playing, touch me, like on the back or shoulder..and here's the weird part, SPARKS WILL FLY, literally, from static electricity....and you got it, any positive action on the machine will shut down.  This is not just a casual observation.  This has occurred over and over for many years and has been documented by experts from out of town, the same ones who observed and documented skilled coin flippers.Other ?'s:  Mostly play VP,  for all the reasons so beautifully articulated by Eduardo, but will take a break for Monopoly slots.  Female.   Age:  retired. State:  California    Play Tribal casinos about once a month, but nothing beats Las Vegas for me.  Online?  No way no how. I think of online sort of like the Fatburger just down a few streets, won't go there, but I will wait for LV and go to the one at Red Rock.  I think it just tastes better that way.
