10+10 Dealt Royals

Post by Lucky Larry »

With Sweet C's second dealt royal flush of the year, the first one was on January 1, 2022 we have now had 20 dealt royals since we began VP play in 2007. Both of us have now been dealt 10 each with my last one in May 21 on the same machine Sweet C caught her last one one. We have both been tremendously lucky!

Amazing! I have had a redraw, but my last dealt one I think was in 2016. Fantastic action!

That is a great streak of at least 1 dealt royal for 16 straight years.

We have both been incredibly lucky but then we also play lots of hands per year. They are always a "take your breath away moment!"

That said, I suspect you're hitting waaaay above the average of one dealt royal per 650000 deals. For the 18 dealt royals from 2007 through 2021, you would have had to play a total of 11,700,000 hands, or 780,000 hands per year to be at that average. It is possible to play that much, but even with two players, it's highly unlikely.

I think I'll stick with the waaaay above average notion.

Actually, it looks like they went two consecutive years without one. Now working on four straight. If they manage ten straight again, I'll eat everyone's shorts

OOPs, misread that you guys had none in 2017 and 2018. Still 14 out of 16 years is impressive nd a great streak.

I'm too tired to think this through and I have to get up early for a couple of observations tomorrow but walk through this with me. To maintain my Elite Status at GNLC we have to put through $1m coin-in or 100,000 points at $10/point on VP which we play almost exclusively. We both generally play multiple hand 3/5 hand 25¢ VP.

So I'm roughing out 3 dealt hands of 5$7.50 (for 5 hands played) is about 2 points. I'm trying to accommodate for Sweet C who plays more single and 3 hand VP. So roughly 50,000 points X 3 hands =150,000 hands/year for Elite status and another $250K for Sweet C's status so maybe 200,000 hands a year?

I'll check my numbers tomorrow or check what you write. Thanks for any help. zzzzzz

Its not all that hard to play a million or more hands per year. I have been doing it by having at least 3 marathon sessions a week going back over 20 years. This would be about where I would fall…700 hands per hour on a single line game X 8 round numbers, 18,000 X 50 weeks with a couple of weeks off is 900,000 hands for the year. It helps that I only have a 60 mile drive to the casino. Unfortunately, that means 54,000 of the 68,000 miles on my 2019 Elantra are casino miles😬. I had thought about being classified for tax purposes as a professional gambler, but I have failed to show a profit in any of the years just based on coin in. I think that in itself would get it classified as a hobby.

I think part of my post didnt take, but no big deal. 700 hands per hour x 8 hours of play is only 5,600 hands or 16,800 hands per week. The 18,000 number instead accounts for extra multi line hands on spin poker. I had explained it, but I think I hit a wrong key and it didn’t post. I only did this illustration to show how easy it is for a regular player to reach 1 million hands a year
