I was fortunate to see Ted Williams play in person once and numerous times on TV. Definitely the left fielder on my all-time greatest team. Two put this on-topic, ie. Bizarro World, Ted's frozen head is in a cryonics facility in Scottsdale down the road from Casinos and Spring Training facilities.

I also enjoyed his fishing shows growing up. My father-in-law was a marine scout in World War II and for a short time, Ted Williams was his captain. I believe it was toward the end of the war in Pearl Harbor where my father-in-law was recovering from his battle injuries. I have written about my father-in-law before and some earlier posts. Quite a hero and wounded several times. Years ago my father-in-law would tell me that Ted Williams was smart as a whip and had the quickest reflexes he had ever seen. Of course my father-in-law being born in the Boston area was a huge Red Sox fan so they got along very well.

I strayed from the recent play I have posted about on this topic to try single line games again last night and was not rewarded. Just before quitting time very early this morning I went back to the same Tencent spin poker deluxe machine and hit five aces right away, but then that went straight down as well and it was quitting time anyway

Attempting another get ahead and quit session tonite. Went up Tues nite, but no hits on single line games, so down a bunch. Tonite will be a real discipline test. Spin poker deluxe beginning with 3 cent game and 3 lines. Progress up on lines after losing 7 times whatever current bet level I am at and bet reductions according to what wins I hit. I expect to have to progress to nickels or even dines before a nice hit, but one never knows. If I happen to hit a big hand at the 3 cent level, a decision will have to be made on quitting or changing machines, although it should make no difference statistically. Just psychologically. This game has 25 lines to choose from. No bets allowed at more than 5 per line and this is not an 800 for bet one game so I must bet 5 units per line. Obviously good dealt hands on a bunch of lines will be the best hope. See what happens. I will be fighting the EV all the way as this is a 96 percent machine.😬 I may post hits as I get them starting with 100 bucks That way I avoid the embarrassment of giving it all back and posting that as well

That's never stopped me. What embarrassment? We don't even have avatars. We can't lose face, not even a phony one.

The embarrassment is discipline failure. Mostly what all regular players face.

Started playing last night with dimes instead of three cents as planned would’ve been OK even if the machine was back-and-forth but unfortunately it was an ice cold one no quad deuces or even wild royals. Several trips now without quad deuces They are probably making up for the wind fall recently. anyway pretty good size loss session mostly my fault on changing my game plan. When you start playing with dimes and have multiple lines your bets get up to close to 10 bucks. With even a 500 bankroll, it will ho quickly on a cold machine

That's normally my presumption. The machine will be a relatively straight shooter and I'll have a patient, fair minded back and forth with it. Unfortunately, in January I too encountered a casino at a time when it was simply in unmerciful cold take mode. I'm learning to move my butt out of the cold ones and start anew while it's early enough to at least recoup from that bad decision. I'd like one $10 bet if I sense a five minute hot streak. But that demands the utmost discipline. One means one.

I have hit more than one Royal on machines like that. After a horrendous dud streak. But within just a few hands or even the first hit after 30 duds. It then usually goes right back into tailspin mode after that if one doesn’t leave. Most will say nonsense, but I have seen it many times. Maybe I just remember the times it did happen and not the others.

Bizarro world strikes again but in a good way this time. I just ran up to Mohegan very late last night in time to catch 25 bucks free play with the intent on playing overnight and catching the other 25 bucks at 6 AM playing mostly Nickels. The nickel deuces machines were ice cold so I went back to my old standard quarter game Martingale clone hitting the ATM for 200 bucks. As you can see I had a fantastic lucky finish both on the quad deuces and a re-draw royal an hour after that. All done now going to take it easy going home after coffee and a brief rest. I think I am back to even for the year now.
