The overwhelming majority of American veterans quietly answered their country's call to service.
Whether we agreed or disagreed with any war, we were honored to serve our country and our flag.
The overwhelming majority of veterans never even considered burning the flag, never even considered fleeing to Canada, and never even considered dodging the draft through medical conditions such as bone spurs (Donald Trump) or through college deferments (Bill Clinton).
I am proud to be a (retired) American serviceman, and proud to be a veteran! No matter where I may be, I always salute the flag and I always stand for the national anthem. To my brothers in all four of the services, be you active or retired, thank you for standing by my side always.

Of all the types of slavery, military conscription is the best.
I am fortunate to live just a few minutes from my local VA hospital and facility. They were great when I had my dad who was a WW2 VET. Funny, my local animal shelter is only a one minute drive from the VA. I try to visit them both with needed donations as often as possible. They are especially thrilled to receive at the VA my collections of personal items I save from my casino Hotel visits. I am a bit late in posting this, but every day my thoughts and prayers are with our Veterans and I thank all for their service.
I AM A 1964 TO 1967 US ARMY VIETNAM ERA VET. I ENLISTED AT AGE 17. I DO NOT CONSIDER MYSELF AS ANY SORT OF SLAVE AS INDICATED BY DINGHY. I PROUDLY SERVED! I HAVE MANY FRIENDS THAT WERE DRAFTED, THEY ARE PROUD OF THEIR SERVICE.
